Rah blinked as he tried to adjust his eyes to his new surroundings. He couldn't believe he had fallen asleep on Phebe's couch but then he had one of the best night rests he had ever had.
He sat up on the couch and cracked his neck and that was when he saw she had draped a pink duvet over him when he had fallen asleep and a matching pink pillow. He couldn't help but chuckle at it.
The smell of freshly brewed coffee hit him from the kitchen and he heard his stomach growl in response. Rarely did he feel hungry in the mornings but now he felt like eating a whole truck of...well, something delicious.
He leaned back against the coach as he recalled the evening before. He had had the most delicious meal, then they had talked, they had talked about....
"Hey! You are up!" Phebe greeted him cheerfully as she walked towards him. She was already dressed for work in a high waist black skirt and a leopard print top.
"Hope I didn't inconvenience you in anyway."
"No, it's just that I almost froze to death last night since you had my duvet but besides that it was fine."
"Well, I would have to say thank you for the accommodation."
She walked towards him till she was standing over him and then she bent over and placed a kiss on his left cheek.
"You are most welcome Rah."
Before she could stand back up he pulled her down to him till she was sitting on his laps then he playfully pushed her against the couch and pinned her down which caused her to erupt in laughter.
"You don't have to go to work today, it's by company by the way so if you don't want to no one can say anything. We could go out shopping, get a bite to eat or do anything you want." He placed a gentle kiss on her cheek as she had done to him earlier. "Just don't go."
"As much as that is a tempting offer and I would love to accept but my work is my responsibility so I can't just abandon it but thanks for the offer."
"I am so in love with you." The words hung on the tip of his tongue but he didn't say them, not yet, he didn't want to scare or maybe he was just scared she didn't feel the same way.
"Are you sure there isn't anything I can do to convince you?" He said trying his most adorable face on her which even made her laugh further.
"Nope there isn't." After much effort he finally let her push him off her. "But you can stay here if you want, you can just drop the key with my neighbours on the first floor when you are ready to leave."
She had managed to get up from underneath him but he still held her securely on his laps, "Before you leave I wanted to confirm something."
"What is that?" She said looking at him with those same eyes that always made him forget even his own name for a while.
"I wanted to know if there is an ...us, so I wouldn't believe there is something where there isn't, that last night didn't scare you away."
"Last night didn't scare me away in fact it made me even..." She didn't complete her statement instead her head fell in that adorable shyness which he had come to know and love. "It didn't scare me in anyway and there. Is. Definitely. An. Us." She took each word singularly and he swallowed it up with much glee than any word, painting or poetry could ever describe.
"There is an 'us'." He said the words more to his benefit than to her hearing as though he could not believe it. Phebe was his and he was hers, there couldn't be a greater gift.
