"Dad! Where are my Bagel Bites?!" Leelee yelled as she walked down the stairs. Stevie followed close behind her out of fear she would fall.

"The oven is taking a while. I keep checking them," he explained, slightly intimidated by his hangry daughter.

"Dad! It's not even on!" She squealed, turning the knob on the toaster oven

"It's not?" He chuckled, Stevie bursting into laughter at the situation. The look on her daughter's face was priceless.

"I could cook you something?" She offered, wiping her eyes from laughing

"No thanks, I can wait a little longer," Leelee declined as she took a seat at the table.

"Well I'll get your food when it's ready. Just sit for a little while."

Leelee took her seat at the kitchen table.

"Is there anything else you need?" Stevie asked. "A glass of water?"

"That's fine."

Stevie immediately went to the cabinet for a glass and filled it, placing it in front of her daughter. The young girl's jaw was set, and Stevie could tell she was upset. "Have you thought of names?" Stevie asked, trying to change the subject once again.
"No...I don't know any that I like."

"It will come to you when you see them. Your father chose your name."

"I know, it doesn't seem like a very 'Stevie Nicks' name."
"I think it suits you perfectly. Unique, sweet..." Stevie tucked a blonde strand behind her daughter's ear and smiled.

Leelee's eyes lowered. "Thank you mama. I guess I have a lot of thinking to do."

"You have time. When you see them, you will know. I wasn't sold until I saw you. Your father was right."

"I bet he doesn't hear that often." Leelee joked and both girls chuckled.
"Just That once," Stevie smiled, putting a few bagel bites on a plate for Leelee

"That's not enough," Lindsey whispered to Stevie, "she eats a lot."
Stevie put a couple more on the plate and she looked up at Lindsey. He shrugged. "Your funeral" he said, knowing it still wouldn't be enough for their hungry daughter. He was bracing himself for impact.
"Mom! That's not enough!" Leelee shouted, "Do you think I'm getting fat or something?! You do! That's what it is! I'm getting fat!" She sobbed
"Not at all, Lee!" Stevie looked back at Lindsey, her eyes wide then toward her daughter, hugging her tightly.

"Told you." Lindsey said triumphantly, taking a bite from one of the mini bagels.
"I know, I've gained weight! But you didn't have to do that!" Leelee squealed

"Baby girl, calm down! You are not fat by any means!"
"Then why won't you feed me? So you want me to starve? I'm hungry and everyone says I'm eating for two and I need more calories."

"You do need more calories and I didn't try to starve you. I simply didn't want to overwhelm you with food. When I was pregnant, I would go through spells where I was insatiable."

Lindsey smirked, remembering she was insatiable in more ways than one when she was pregnant with both of their children.
"Okay!" She gave in, having a full plate and a large glass of sweet tea. Stevie and Lindsey exchanged nervous glances
Leelee finished her food in record time, looking around. "Is there more? There has to be, right? That can't be it."

"We can grab something after your appointment." Stevie said and Lindsey shook his head. Grave mistake.

"But I'm still hungry," she wept, her mood swings in full effect.
"We'll find something," both of her parents jumped up and began their search. Lindsey taking the cabinets while Stevie checked the fridge
Stevie pulled or random fruits and vegetables, juice and even the carton of milk, offering it to Leelee. Each time she turned up her nose, crossing her arms and huffing in frustration. Nothing was good enough.
"Want more bagel bites?" Lindsey asked as he passed offered her some strawberries
"You have more and you were holding out on me?!" Leelee's eyes were wide and full of fiery anger.
"They're still frozen but we can fix that," Lindsey coward back at her tone, "is that what you want?"
