Aah, sorry for my absence, even when I promised a chapter! Things have been really hectic lately. ^^
Going home was something (Y/n) always enjoyed - it meant she could escape the lonely place she called school. It also meant that she could have a pleasant walk home, stopping somewhere to get a healthy (unhealthy) snack. It all normally seemed like a 50/50 to her.
Today, she was a bit dismayed to leave. Her new friends were some of the nicest people she'd ever met (besides an old friend from elementary school). They were all so genuine, and they all had something special about them. Miku was the cutesy I'll-Help-You-Hook-Up-With-Your-Crush type. Rin was sweet and mischievous. Kaito was the innocent-not-so-innocent one. Luka, as much as she denied it, was the mom friend. Meiko teased people and played pranks on them... but in a loving way. Teto was always smiling. Neru was a tsundere. Haku was shy.
Now, there's always that one cliche where "one person was out of the ordinary". And that person happened to be Len. To (Y/n), he was just... ordinary. Not that it was bad. She just couldn't exactly pinpoint anything. He was kind and very willing to help her, but that was something found in everyone. I mean... he did bring her a(n) (f/s/f) sundae. And that isn't on the menu.
(Y/n) arrived at her home, feet sore after an almost hour and a half walk. She brought home some dinner for herself, some prepackaged sushi from the store.
"Hi, honey," (Y/n)'s mom greeted. "I got you some (f/s/f)."
"Thanks," was the (h/c)-haired girl's reply. She didn't notice that her voice carried some exhaustion, and surprisingly, sadness. Her mom eyed her.
"Is everything alright?"
"Hm?" (Y/n) looked up from her place in the shoe closet. "Yeah, why?"
"You sounded sad when you thanked me," her mom said, stirring whatever concoction mothers stir in pots. "Are you sure?"
(Y/n) blinked. "I didn't even notice. But to be completely honest, I was a bit sad to leave school. It has nothing to do with you, though. I was just having a good day."
Her mom's eyes lit up. "Ooh, a good day? Tell me all about it, sweetie," she said, making her way towards the couch in the living room.
"Well, I made some new friends today."
"Really? Awesome, sweetie! After a year and a half, wow!"
"Mom, you're saying that like I've never had friends before."
"I know sweetie, I'm sorry... it's just been so long! who are they? How did you meet them?
(Y/n) thought back to when Len found her by the sakura tree. "Well, someone named Len found me listening to music outside during lunch. He and I talked for a while before he left to get something. He came back with a(n) (f/s/f) sundae for me, and his twin sister followed him back out."
"'He'? It's a boy?"
"Yes, he's a boy. No, he's not my boyfriend. We literally just met. You know I'm not like other girls, mom.
Her mom nodded. "Okay. Is that all?"
(Y/n) shook her head. "No. They took me to their friend group in the cafeteria. A particularly big group, actually."
"How many people were there, including those twins?"
"Uh..." (Y/n) counted off all the people in her head. Miku, Rin, Len, Luka, Kaito, Meiko, Neru, Haku, and Teto. "Nine of them. They're actually one of those 'popular people' groups."

Fanfiction(Y/n) had always been a somewhat quiet girl. She didn't have many friends and as a result, wasn't really known well around Sakura High School. She normally sat under the iconic massive tree that gave the school its name, doing whatever she needed or...
