"(Y/n)!"

As the (h/c)-haired girl made her way towards her group of friends, Rin and Miku shouted out her name simultaneously. Len took notice of her as well and beamed. All but Meiko were there, who probably left early to check on Kaito. Teto, Luka, and Haku waved. Neru glanced up from her phone, gave a forced smile, and immediately looked back down.

She's coming around, (Y/n) thought.

Rin had a circular purse slung over her shoulder, which was decorated to look like an orange. "Got any money?"

(Y/n) shook her head. "I kinda came on short notice, but I'm fine. I don't really need anything at the moment, let alone anything important. My mom does all that for me," she smiled. Rin nodded.

Miku was very obviously excited, however. She ran over and glomped the (e/c)-eyed girl, causing her to trip and land by Len's feet, who only shook his head. "Please don't kill our new friend," he said, helping her up. Miku began to pout over-dramatically but regained a semi-normal composure as she led the group away from the school and towards the mall. The trip was nice, but (Y/n) couldn't help but feel that something felt a bit off. Her confusion washed away when she looked over her shoulder to find Len unusually quiet, walking with his hands in his pockets and his eyes to the ground. She slowed her pace to let him catch up with her.

"Everything alright?"

"Oh," the blondie said, bringing his own eyes up to meet hers. He felt a bit alarmed to find that they were filled with concern. "Don't worry, I'm just thinking. It's probably just about a lesson today or something," he brushed off.

"Probably?"

"I don't even know what I'm thinking sometimes," he laughed, at which (Y/n) smiled and nodded.

"That's evident in teens apparently," she laughed. "Grown-ups kinda make teenagers sound like they're too dumb or confused to do anything."

"Well, I can agree that it's definitely not always the case," he smiled, putting emphasis on "always". The two looked up at Miku simultaneously, to which they started snickering at.

"I'm a terrible friend," Len said in between laughs. (Y/n) only shook her head.

"No, I think friends are allowed to tease each other. I think that only further proves the friendship."

Len, while still smiling, gave her a slightly confused look. "Do you think about that often?" (Y/n) blushed a bit and put her hands behind her back.

"Used to. I didn't have any friends before I met you guys, so it was always on my mind."

Len's smile faltered slightly, deciding he wasn't going to press further. "Well, you've got us now, so you don't need to worry."

"Could you two lovebirds please hurry up?! We've got a food court to scavenge!" Rin cut in with an annoyed tone, but the knowing gleam in her eyes couldn't be any more prominent. (Y/n) and Len blushed.

"R-Rin, you know it's nothing like that. We only met a few days ago," Len said, surprised at his sudden flustered behavior. The rest of the group picked up on this and cocked their heads curiously at the blonde.

"This is rare," Luka said quietly. "You're normally so calm in these kinds of situations, especially with other girls insisting that they like you. Why the change in behavior?"

Len's blush became more prominent as he played with the hem of his shirt and said nothing.

"M-maybe," (Y/n) cut in. "Maybe it's just because we actually know each other and are friends. Other girls barely know him, yet declare their love for him, apparently."
