*the long title says everything*
I've seen many fanfics where writers often tend to have very awkward situations when the main character first meet Jordan at the condo/apartment.
Here is a very common awkward situation:
The main character meets Jordan at the condo, and she goes OMG JORDAN IS MY NEIGHBOUR in her mind and there is this awkward silence between them.
Another example:
She moves in. Jordan goes knocking on the door because he wants to meet the new neighbour.
...
You can see where this goes, right?
This example can be used when the main character doesn't know who Jordan is.
There are plenty of other moving-in situations, too many for me to list it here.
So, I'm going to write a moving-in-and-non-awkward-meeting-Jordan-situation. That will solve most (not all) of the awkward situations, I think.
Actually, I might make it even more awkward. *sigh*...
If you want to copy and paste parts of it (or even the whole thing) for your fanfic go ahead, just be sure to put a link to your fanfic in the comments section. It's amazing to see the many different outcomes that will come out of it.
You can tell someone is shifting in when you see a few stacks of boxes outside a door. Another way of telling is when you hear the shifting of furniture coming from inside the condo unit. And that was exactly what Jordan saw and heard today when he was walking past his neighbour's unit.
The previous occupants, a rich couple, moved out a month ago. Jordan only met them in the lift or at the lobby, where they would greet each other with a nod. He didn't really want to converse with them, there was nothing to talk about. He expected this new neighbour to be the same too.
When he entered the lift, he was greeted by transparent plastic and cushions covering the walls and the ceiling. This was to prevent mirrors from breaking accidentally due to mishandling of large furniture.
He pressed the button with a "1" on it and the lift brought him down to the ground floor.

Jordan had gotten back home and was now waiting for the lift. Beside him was a pile of boxes that wasn't there a few hours earlier. There was no one tending to the boxes, so they were kind-of just sitting in the middle of the lift lobby.
The lift door opened and he stepped in alone He saw someone pressing a button outside the lift when the door was about to close, making the doors open again.
The someone pushed a box inside the lift, then went out of the lift to carry or push another box in. He shifted to the back of the lift for more space for that someone, a female,
After placing down the fifth box, that someone looked up.
"Sorry," that someone, a she, said. "I'm going to take quite a while."
"It's okay."
"Which floor are you going to?"
"18."
"Same. Do you mind them?" She was talking about the boxes.
"Nope." She still had a few boxes to go. There was only one lift, this lift. He could take the stairs, but climbing up to the 18th floor isn't exactly the best idea.
So he waited.
After the 15th(?) box, she finally squeezed into the lift and up they went. When they reached the 18th floor, he realised that the boxes were blocking his way and he couldn't get out. Pushing his way out might knock over some of the boxes, which was kind of rude. Even though he didn't care what his neighbour thought of him, he still wanted to make a decent first impression.
It took her 5 minutes to have all the boxes in the lifts. The whole process of carrying the boxes out of the lift would probably take as long.
5 minutes wasn't a long time, but he had an urge to get out of that lift for some reason.
"Do you want me to help?" he asked.
"No, you don't have to. I can handle-" She looked up to see the boxes blocking him, "Oh, I'm so sorry!" She then moved away the boxes so that there was space for him to move.
"It's alright. You sure you don't need any help?" he asked again as he walked out.
She waved him away, "Yes, I'm perfectly fi..." She paused.
"Actually, can you help me with that box over there? Just shift it to the door." She pointed to a large box still inside the lift.
Jordan went back into the lift and carried the box. Quite heavy. While he was carrying it out, he saw the lady hunched over, sweat trickling down her forehead. He placed the box beside the door.
He wondered why he never bothered to help her a few minutes ago, when he was just watching her doing all the hard work.
"Thank you," she managed to give him a faint smile. It meant that his job was done, and he could return back to his unit. But to her surprise, he decided to help some more.
"You don't-" she said, her voice raised.
"It's okay. That's what neighbours are for." Jordan could see her smiling out of the corner of his eye.
---
"Oh yeah, welcome to the neighborhood," Jordan said after the last of the boxes were placed down.
"Thanks. I'm _____," she offered her hand, "And you must be?"
He took her hand and shook it, "Jordan."
"Well, thanks Jordan for your help," she brushed aside a stray lock of hair that came loose from her ponytail.
"You're welcome. If you need anything, you can just knock."
"Will do," she glanced over at the pile of boxes, "I hope you don't mind the noise." Unpacking was going to be a noisy affair.
"I don't mind. I have soundproofed walls."
"I seeeee..."
Soundproofed walls? What for? Music production? The previous neighbours were too noisy?
"I'm going back. It was nice meeting you. Bye."
"Bye. And thanks aga-" she said but he had already disappeared back into his own unit.

--BONUS SECTION--
This is just a small little extra thingy to add to the story. yeah...
The next day, _____ decided to give a cupcake to her neighbours, one for Jordan and another for that other neighbour she hadn't met with yet.
She placed a cupcake kept in a plastic container at Jordan's doorstep and rung the doorbell.
She then went over to the other neighbour's door and was about to ring the doorbell when the door opened.
She was greeted by (Insert character description here).
She could hear another door open behind her. She turned around. Jordan was picking up the plastic container, looking slightly confused.
She turned back to (new neighbour), "Hi. Urm. I'm _____ and I'm your new neighbour. I just shifted in yesterday." She held out the cupcake.
