The trip to the bridge is short. Once there, the Commander just walked a few steps in, not really giving us a chance to play tourist and check things out. We mostly just get the impression that it's somewhere between Trek and what one would see in a movie depiction of a submarines helm room. Round, with everyone facing away from each other and all white and futuristic looking. Holographic projections all over the place too. My inner Neek(ya know nerd/geek?) is salivating at the idea of finding out how it all works. But the buzz kill of a Commander just flags down a crew member who'd been zipping around on actual wings. Wha? I stared in fascination at the person as they got closer. "Navigator, these are the the females you will have heard about. I would like you to join us in the conference room rather than trying to crowd into the bridge." The Commander explains as the Navigator joins us out in the hallway. "Of course Commander. I can access the Navigation Mainframe from there easily." The Navigator responds in a whispy voice that gives no hint to its gender. Its appearance is also rather androgynous. Tied back pale blonde hair, large shiny entirely black eyes. It seemed as though a human and a bee managed the impossible, and this was their drone offspring. I felt like Spock in my head, fascinating...Now that we had collected the Navigator, the Commander dismisses all of the Black Ops guys with exception of Shade and Shadow. Our reduced group troupes over a ways down the hallway past the Bridge to another set of sliding doors. Once open they reveal the afore mentioned conference room. Inside are already a few seated people. Not sure who they are, but my best guess is that they are high ranking crew who want to at least know what's going on with us. Guess we are interesting or something. The Commander motions me and the girls ahead of him into the room as he says "Please, find a seat. My fellow officers have already joined us as you see, and will help us figure out what is the best course of action to take in regards to the future care of you displaced females." He says kindly as we enter the room before him and his men.
I turn and look around at the Candy Girls. They glance in turn at each other and me. We murmur to each other about how this is going to potentially be really bad for us. If they can't get us home, that only leaves trying to survive in a situation where we are not even aware of the rules, or what rights if any that we have. Females tending to not have much say or sway, as was evident by how even the Commander kept making noises about what was to be done with us, rather than asking us what we wanted to do with ourselves in the event we couldn't home. Some of the girls begin to hyperventilate before we even sat down. The Commander looks at the girls with alarm. No lie, they do appear ready to pass out. I look to him and say, "They are very worried that if we are unable to go home, that we will be no better, or even worse off than we were with those unscrupulous poachers we just got away from". I shrug at this point, there is no reason to sugar coat their fears for him. He needs to know that even though they had 'liberated' us, we were still on high-alert, and not likely to fully trust anyone to leave us unmolested. He could just get over it.
His version of an eyebrow rose at my statement. He then looked at each freaked out Candy Girl in turn, no doubt cataloguing how freaked out each one was. His gaze then returned to me as he said "How is it that you do not seem as distraught as they?" I snorted in a very unladylike manner. "What would be the point? And I was not raped as they were, the Skinnies found I was not easy prey from the moment they first touched me." I respond simply. I glance at the girls, then continue "And once the girls realized this, they allowed me to teach them how to protect themselves as well. Better to get an ass kicking than have your most private parts violated, and your right to decide what happens to your own body taken from you." I shrug, and take a seat at the table we have finally reached. The girls take spots along the table next to me. The Commander takes a seat directly across from me. Shade and Shadow next to him, with the other officers to the other side of the Commander. I take the time everyone is using to get themselves settled to actually take a good look at the Commander. So much had happened so quickly, I hadn't bothered to notice a damn thing about the guy beyond big, in charge, bushy unibrow, keeps being surprised by mere commonsensical human behavior. So yeah, I gave the guy a once over while I was actually sitting still.
