"Where are we?" said Thuy looking like she was missing her home. The women didn't answer, even the two kids didn't. We both tried to ask her where she is driving us but she still didn't answer. We sat in the car in silence till we past a big black gate that said Bourke Street Orphanage.
~~~
"Hey you can't take us to this orphanage, we have parents you know" I shouted at the lady but she still ignored me. Again, I did lie about that we both have parents, Thuy might still have her parents but I don't anymore.
The car stops at the dim building with a few big blackbirds. Maybe they're crows. The lady opened the door and drag me and Thuy into the building. I still didn't understand why she is dragging us to an orphanage. Yeah I know that we look like little kids wandering around in the streets. But it doesn't mean we need to go to an orphanage.
We got into a reception and the lady started talking to a man sitting there. I listen to every word she said. I think Thuy was listening too. I didn't really hear clearly what the man said. And that's when I heard the women asking us rudely what our names is.
"Kim" I said trying to not look scared.
"And my names Thu...Sky" Thuy said. The lady was still holding onto us, and again she dragged us to an entrance with red carpet stairs. We started walking up the stairs to the top. The lady opened the door and said,
"These will be your rooms, I suspect you to be good for the night".
She closes the door and locked it. I waited till the sound of the lady's footsteps started to fade away.
"What are we going to do?" I asked.
"We could smash through the window" said Thuy. I can tell that she wasn't trying to make it sound like a joke.
"There's no time for jokes Thuy. Elizabeth has just been killed, your brother has too and now we have no parents" I said trying to make her understand.
"That's not true, my Dad could still be alive" Thuy said looking like she was about to cry.
"Well we will figure this out in the morning right now we need some rest" I said, while yawning. We both went to bed and had rest.
While I was sleeping I felt a bump my bed it was Thuy, I finally wake up.
"Morning" said Thuy, happily.
"Good morning" I respond. As soon as I got out of bed, the lady came rushing into our room.
"Get up! I got a call from your dad and his coming here soon" the lady says. The lady closes the door.
