A Rebel of the Underground

"Commander Erwin please!", begged Commander Keith Shardis. " I saw her with my own eyes!"
"It's not possible Keith. No matter who she is or what she's capable of, she can't be as strong as you say she is.", replied Commander Erwin Smith calmly, but firmly.
"You should have seen her, Erwin. The way she used the 3DMG, as if she had been given military training! I've never seen anyone move that fast in my life." , said Keith. He paused for a few seconds and then added: " Not even Lance Corporal Levi."
That was enough to force all of Erwin's attention on Keith. Erwin thought about this for a few seconds, then asked: " How can I be sure she's as capable as you say she is?"
"You'll have to see for yourself.", replied Keith. " I saw her in action about three days ago, when she was running away from the military police. She managed to escape from the underground, her home since her childhood. She's being questioned as we speak, but she won't even say a word. The higher ups have decided to hold a hearing tomorrow.
Apparently, she was a notorious rebel in the underground. A thief and a troublemaker."
"People who can't obey orders don't belong in the Survey Corps. If she isn't disciplined, there's absolutely no way she can be trained.", said Erwin.
"She doesn't need training.", said Keith. "Trust me Erwin, I've seen her in action. She could be a contributing factor in mankind's fight for freedom."
"What do you expect me to do, then? Defend her at the hearing even if I don't know what she's capable of?", asked Erwin.
"I'm not asking you to defend her, I'm just asking you to accept her into the Survey Corps. Various witnesses have already spoken to the judge. He will ask her to join the Corps during the hearing. But if you don't accept, she can't join. It's all in your hands Erwin.", replied Keith.
"I'll come to the hearing.", said Erwin. "And I'll see for myself whether or not she's worthy of joining the Survey Corps."
