Tonight Lauren was preparing to head to a block party with her friends. Right now it was only 8:46 and the party started and 9:30 and ended whenever.
They were celebrating Taylor McCarthy birthday party. She was a rich, spoiled white girl but she loved getting drunk and hanging with black people. She was a cool all-around person, which of course was the reason she was having a block party.
Lauren of course wanted to look her best. She placed a pair of leather jeans and a floral crop top on her bed with her bright pink Gucci high top sneakers.
She went into her bathroom and took a half hour long shower. She came out in her robe and her hair wrapped in a towel. Once Lauren stepped out of her bathroom she was startled to find her grandma sitting on her bed.
"Ah! Grandma you scared me,"
She completely ignored Lauren because she was examining her outfit that was on the bed.
"Lula baby were you planning on wearing this to the birthday party that you're going to tonight?" Her grandma asked as she look at the clothes with disgust
"Uh yes ma'am," Lauren said
"You wanna go out looking like a stripper?"
"Grandma!"
"I'm sorry baby, but I don't understand why you young people go out looking like this."
Lauren laughed at her grandma "I don't either grandma can you just go so I can get dressed?"
"Okay baby but let me just pray for you when you get ready to leave," Her grandmother pleaded
Lauren laughed "Sure grandma."
She reentered her bathroom and straightened her hair. Then, got dressed and applied lip gloss and mascara to her face. She finally got dressed and examined herself in the mirror
I hope I don't look better than Taylor tonight ... Lauren thought
"Grandma I'm done getting dressed I'm coming downstairs now."
"Good, good! Come on baby hold my hands so we can pray," her frantic grandma said
Lauren playfully rolled her eyes "Yes ma'am."
"Heavenly father, I come before you right now to ensure that you would place a blanket of protection over my first grand baby while she goes out tonight with her friends in Jesus name I pray Amen," Lauren Grandma said
"Amen. Can I go now grandma?"
"Uh-uh don't forget my kiss."
Lauren kissed her grandma on the cheek and gave her a tight hug before she zoomed out the front door.
Once in her car she called Deadra "Hey girl I'm pulling up to your house now come outside."
"No! I'm not done getting dressed come inside I'll be ready in 15 minutes," Deadra said
"Okay." Lauren got out the car and headed to the front door of Deadra house
She knocked on the door and was greeted by the friendly face of Deadra father
"Hey Mr.H," she said cheerfully
"Lauren! What's up, I bet your looking for Deadra and not me," he laughed
"Yeah. Unfortunately."
"Well she in her room you can go up there if you'd like."
Lauren headed upstairs and entered her bestfriend's room.
"Dee-Dee," she called
"Just sit in my room I'll be out in a minute."
Lauren sat on Deadra bed and observed her room, everything was sky blue. She got up and looked at all the things on her dresser, including her diary. Deadra thought about it for a second, then realized that everything was written in here, Lauren probably already knew.
Lauren flipped through the pages until she landed on one specific page. Lauren decided to read it.
Dear diary,
For some strange reason I can't shake these feeling I have, I don't know how much I can take being around her before I just completely snap and tell her everything. She's my bestfriend and I don't want things to change between us but I can't hold these thoughts and feelings back much longer.
Lauren was confused. What was Deadra not telling her? What it something bad?
"Okay Lauren I want you to give me your honest opinion about this outfit," Lauren jumped at the sound of Deadra voice and quickly put her diary back before she walked in the room
"Okay, how does it look?" She asked as she entered the room
"It looks great, you look amazing."
"Thanks bestfriend," she said as she pulled Lauren into a hug
"So you ready to Taylor's birthday block party?" Lauren asked
"Hell yeah!"
Lauren was determined to have a good night with her classmates.
