I was in the kitchen, making dinner. Ciara had left two hours ago and I was left alone again. It's not like that I am not used to staying alone, but sometimes it bothered me. Luke said that he will be here in the evening.
So, I guess he will be here any minute. I just hope he will not be late because once I get in my bed, I swear to god, even if he breaks down the door, I will not get up.
I walked to the fridge and grabbed two eggs and four slices of cheese. I turned and made my way to the cabinet and took out a pan, and four pieces of bread. Turning on the stove, I coated the pan with butter as it heated up and began preparing the meal.
A few minutes later, I turned off the stove and made my way over to the dining table, placing a glass and a plate before putting the grilled cheese on the plate and pouring myself some juice.
As I began to eat, there was a knock on the door. Since I already guessed who it was, I ignored the fact that he knocked three times. I got up and walked over to the door.
I opened it and Luke stood in front of me with. He was dressed in basketball shorts and a white shirt. His blonde hair was covered with a black beanie. Next to him were two big suitcases and a backpack was on his left shoulder as he held something in his right hand.
"Hey, I hope you didn't eat yet. I brought pizza." he smiled as he walked in.
"Oh, I was just going to." I said, pointing to the dining table. He looked over and smirked.
"Well, you can still have pizza." I nodded, smiling. He handed me the box and I watched as he pulled his luggage in. He placed it by the couch and we walked to the kitchen. He sat down and I grabbed two plates. Placing one in front of him, I sat down. He smiled, opening the box. He handed me a slice and took one for himself.
We were eating silently when he decided to break the awkward silence, which I was thankful for. "So, earlier you said that you have a few rules?" he asked. I nodded, wiping my mouth. "Yeah, I am a quite difficult person. So, bear with me." I smiled and he laughed.
"Do you want to hear them now?" I asked, standing up and placing my plate in the sink. "Yeah, sure." he replied, wiping his mouth and placing his plate in the sink as well.
I leaned on the counter as he stood by the door frame. I sighed. "Well, rule number one-" he cut me off. "Is that you gotta have fun." he finished with How to Be a Heartbreaker song lyrics. We both laughed.
I pushed my bangs behind my ear as I began again. "Anyway, Number one rule. Do not have any physical contact with me, please. I would appreciate that." I said that looking directly into his eyes, just to let him know that I am dead serious. He stared at me for a moment before smirking.
"Even a high five?" he raised his hand. I shoot him a glare.
"Number two. Do not come near my room. Even if I am there or not. If you do need something, knock four times." he raised an eyebrow.
"Why four? What if I knock three times or two?" he questioned.
"I like even numbers." I answered simply. "And if you don't knock four times, I will not open. Even if you are caught on fire." I said and he laughed.
"Okay. Four knocks. I will remember that." I walked pass him to the living room and he followed. We both sat on the couch leaving a good space between us.
"Number three. Your room can be messy as hell. As long as you keep the door closed, I don't care. Nonetheless, don't bring your mess out here. As you can see, I am very organized." I pointed a finger at him. He smiled.
"Number four. As you can already guess, there is a single bathroom. So, once you are in there, please make sure to lock the door. I do not appreciate seeing you nak-" he smirked. "Undressed." I finished.
"Number five. No parties allowed. Only if I say so." he growled and I laughed, silently.
"Number six. No bringing girls around here. Only if she is your girlfriend, and she is comfortable with the idea of us living together, I don't want problems. Oh and definitely no having sex on my couch." he smirked and I felt the heat on my cheeks.
I thought for a moment before continuing. "Number seven. You can have friends over as long as they are clean, nice and don't do drugs." he smiled. "Don't worry. My mates are really nice, and I don't have a girlfriend, by the way." I did not know why I felt relieved when he said that, but that was good to hear. There was a moment of silence and he was just staring at me, and me staring at my hands. I cleared my throat and he looked away.
"Um, number eight, on Friday nights. It's Netflix night for me. I do not care if your mother is in on MTV saying hi to you. The TV is mine." he laughed so hard.
"Oh god, you are so mean." he rolled his eyes.
"Well, that's me." I raised an eyebrow at him. I pulled my hair over one shoulder as looked at him. "Umm, I guess that is all." I shrugged my shoulders. He let his head fall back.
"Finally!" he laughed and I chuckled.
I got up and pulled a key out of my back pocket and pointed to him. "Here is your key. Guard it with your life." he smiled. As I handed it to him, his fingers slightly brushed with mine, and I felt the shivers down my spine. I let go of the key and it fell to the floor. He looked at me worriedly. "I-I am going to my r-room." I ran my fingers through my hair quickly.
"Goodnight." I hurried to my room and closed the door behind me.
