Tempting Curse

The hunt

The demoniac creature started growling, and showing his teeth, trying to threaten me. "Who are you? And how were you able to invoke me I have never made a contract with you? TALK."

To his very subtle way to make me scared, I only crossed my hand and stared "If you don't change your attitude very quickly doggie I might reconsider not using you, and then you'll only get killed." I responded in a nonchalant way.

The creature angered, barked obviously angry with my response, and then yelled with a demonic tone "I'll make you regret bringing me here" He then jumped towards me his mouth open and ready to tear my head. Still crossing my arm I dodged his attack.

"I really don't have the time to play with you." I said as I was starting to lose patience, and as the minute pass, I could feel the roots spreading further in my arm and getting closer to my heart.

The creature didn't take account of anything as it was getting wilder, and launched another attack that I dodged again, but this time by a mere inch from my face which left a little scar on my cheek.

Even if it was getting healed, at the smell of my blood, I lost control. I uncrossed my leg, sprinted toward him while he got ready to attack again. When we were an inch from each other, I jumped above him.

He was expecting it as his claws were waiting for me, but I was able to change my trajectory in the air taking advantage of his attack and kicked his muzzle. He was sent flying air, crashing deep in the forest "Shit, I forgot to go easy on him, I hope he isn't dead."

I followed where I sent him flying, to find him on the brink of consciousness, barely breathing as green blood oozed from his scalp.

But his eyes were still as furious as ever. I squatted down to his level so that his eyes bore into mine "Now listen to me carefully. I don't have a lot of time to waste with you, I'm going to give you two choices" I said in a calm voice.

"You either agree to follow my orders," I said which earned me a growl from him. "Or I'll destroy you."

"I'd rather die" he responded at which I started to laugh. "You don't seem to get it. What I'm going to shatter is your demonic core, which without it; your soul won't be able to return to the underworld, which means you're going to die here, you'll be destroyed." I said my eyes glowing, while the creature shuddered, and his eyes showed fear.

"I-Impossible It can't be destroyed, don't try to fool me!" He yelled back.

"It's true, for now, It's impossible to destroy it with the amount of power that I have." I replied while nodding my head.

"I knew it; you were lying"

"But," I said as I caressed his fur "It's not impossible for me to drain it of its energy, and after I drain it. It will shatter on it's own" At my word, he started shuddering more and more.

"Since you finally understand where you stand. I'm going to give you another choice, you live or you die?"

"I'll...l-" and as he was going to pronounce those words, I suddenly felt something flying toward me from behind. I quickly turned around and caught the object that was sent toward me.

In my hand was some kind of arrow but in blasts of demon energy form. While I was inspecting it, I felt another impending danger coming toward me, so I sent the arrow that was in my hand in the direction of the projectile.

The arrow clashed with another one and exploded. It was then that I felt the first wave of pain, the roots were dangerously close to my heart.

Taking profit of my distraction, something passed through the flame trying to attack me when I'm weak, but I wasn't going down that easy. I tumbled backward while kicking the enemy, and sending him crashing into the tree.
