Part two of Sadness in the heart
*5 years later*
It's been 5 years already since Kellin dropped out of college and he recently turned 24 three weeks ago. Katelynne gave Kellin a surprise visit on his birthday and gave him a lot band t-shirts related to the bands he mostly love as a gift. They still kept in contact and since she can't give Kellin's number to Mike and Tony, they wrote letters and gave them to her when they found out that she planned to travel to Oregon. She decided to stay at his apartment for a week which gave Kellin enough time to read and answer each letter for his friends but didn't signed any of them in case that Vic was still around them.
Vic, on the other hand, was wretched since the day Kellin left. He was devastated that his friend was not around and broke up with Danielle a few months later after he walked on her kissing another guy while she was on their lap (I don't have anything against her. She's an amazing person and I needed something to make this different.)
Ever since then, Vic had a lot of time to think about his feelings and sort his priorities and came to a conclusion that he liked- no scratch that- he fell in love with his best friend. But it was now too late and he didn't know anything about him or where he was now. The only thing he had from him was his phone he left in the room five years ago.
One morning, Kellin woke up to the sound of knocking on the door. Groaning, he got up and walked to the door and opened it only to be greeted by Katelynne tackling him into a hug and suitcases on the small hallway. They walked in and talked for a while, agreeing with her staying in his place until she finds an apartment for herself which didn't took that long before she left to the second floor apartment right above Kellin's two weeks later.
Meanwhile, Vic, Mike and Tony were discussing on changing from home because they needed something different in their lives. Hours later of talking about it, they agreed on moving to Oregon and give it a try. They started packing and a month and a half later, they were moving their belongings into their new home. While unpacking, Vic couldn't help it but wonder about Kellin and were was he at the moment.
One evening Katelynne convinced Kellin on going for a walk at the park just to have an 'interaction with Mother Nature' or something like that. Tony also convinced the brothers on joining him for a walk. Once in the park, they were on their walks when Tony and Mike decided that it was a great idea and take off running leaving Vic behind. While on the run, they ran into someone, knocking them to the ground. They turned around and were surprised that it was Katelynne who was staring at them in shock too.
Kellin and Vic were lost in the park, each trying to find their friends. Vic got a text message from Tony when he ran into a pole that knocked him to the side with someone else too. He tried to get up but the person was on their stomach that prohibited him to do such action. They looked at each other with pure shock and the first thing that Vic did was to pull Kellin into his lap for a hug.
*8 months later*
Vic and Kellin's friendship went back to how it used to be when they were still in school before any drama. Mike saw lots of moments were he could have spoken but instead took pictures because he didn't want to ruin such a beautiful event like when they're cuddling, Kellin was on Vic's back or simply asleep on each other. Mike being... well Mike, he went and showed the moments to Tony and Katelynne when the bet they left a long time ago started all over again. Both Mike and Katelynne already declaring to be the best man and the groom's maid and Tony the photographer of the event.
~1 year 2 months later~
Their friendship grew stronger as time went by, both becoming inseparable in the process. One late evening, all five friends were sitting in the living room of Kellin's apartment laughing and making jokes, Tony with camera in hand, until Vic said something out of the blue taking everyone by surprise.
"I'm getting married and I want all you guys to be at my wedding. Especially you, Kellin."
Everyone went quiet at Vic's words and immediately looked at Kellin as he stared at everything but Vic as a hint of sadness and disappointment was shown on his expression. Tony stared at Vic in shock, Mike in disbelief and Katelynne with slight anger.
"Oh... umm... sure I will be there. As your best man I suppose."
Vic smiled at Kellin once he was him and shook his head at him.
"No," he said as he got off the couch and got on one knee in front of a confused Kellin. "I want you to go to the wedding as my groom. So, Kellin Quinn, will you make me the happiest man and marry me?"
Kellin's eyes filled with tears and quickly covered his mouth with both hands as he looked at Vic, who was holding a ring to him. Everyone was astonished, mouths hanging open as Tony slowly rose the camera and started to take pictures, waiting for Kellin's answer. He looked from Vic to the ring and back at Vic as he started to nod, not trusting his voice.
He then whispered a small 'yes' at Vic and started to repeat the same over and over again louder. All three of them started to cheer for them as Vic jumped to his feet and picked Kellin up in his arms as they spinned around. He lowered him on his feet and slipped the ring on his finger. They looked at the jewelry and looked at each other as Vic leaned to Kellin and kissed him passionately. Both pulled away as Vic pulled his fiance closer to him by his hips and whispered a small, "At last, I can finally call you mine," before kissing is future husband again.
