Chapter 9

"Yah, Kyungsoo!"

The black haired flinches at the sudden loud voice and blinks at Baekhyun in complete innocence. His friend sighs dramatically and rolls his eyes.

"Seriously, it's getting annoying!"

"Sorry Baek, I'm just... out of my mind recently."

"Yes, I've noticed."

The blonde sighs again and lets his neck crack. It has been a while since Baekhyun and Kyungsoo met, they actually had a lot to talk about, but Kyungsoo isn't able to focus. His thoughts are a mess lately. Ever since he's visited Jongin at work a week ago, he isn't able to get a straight thought.

"Come on, at least drink your coffee."

The black haired looks down at the coffee in front of him. Baekhyun and Kyungsoo met up in a little café two hours ago, and since they came here, it's still his first cup. It's cold now, of course.

"Wow, I love cold bitterness."

"Don't be so sarcastic, Kyung. It's not sexy."

Kyungsoo lifts an eyebrow.

"And why would I want to be sexy in the first place?"

"I don't know, to impress your soulmate, maybe?"

"For the last time, Baekhyun, I'm not trying to impress Jong-"

"Oh, of course not", the blonde replies sarcastically, a crooked grin on his lips. "That's why you started wearing tighter pants and loose pullovers, of course you don't want to draw his attention. You hear how stupid that sounds, right?"

The black haired covers his face in agony and sighs deeply. Yes, okay, he admits, he does wear that fully aware of the effect, but that doesn't matter now. At least not in the past week.

"How's it going anyway?", Baekhyun asks interested, taking a sip from his coffee. "Are you two dating now or nah? Have you kissed? Have you had sex? How is it? How is he?"

The younger wiggles his eyebrows and the black haired shares one of his infamous death glares with him. Unaffected by that, Baekhyun raises his brows.

"Come on, tell me."

"I am not you, Baek, I won't tell you anything about my sex life. Plus... we... well..."

The blonde gasps overdramatically and covers his mouth in shock.

"No way! You two haven't fucked yet!?"

"Yes, scream it even louder, I think the people on the other side of the street haven't heard you!"

Baekhyun quickly covers his mouth and apologises.

"No, but seriously- why not? Chan and I did it two weeks after we met."

"Two weeks, seriously? Are you sick, Baekhyun? I owe Min and Dae five bucks. They said you two would fuck the next day. I said it would be within three hours. I'm deeply disappointed."

Baekhyun looked at him with an impression of Kyungsoo's death glare.

"What did I just say about your sarcasm?"

"Good thing I don't want to impress you, huh."

The blonde rolls his eyes in distress, taking another sip before coming back to the topic.

"But honestly, why not? Kim Kai's pure eye candy, he's hot as fuck!"

Kyungsoo sighs, supporting his head with one hand, staring into nowhere. Yes, Baekhyun is right, Kai is pure eye candy. He's handsome and hot and sexy and has a nice body, but Baekhyun doesn't know the difference between Kai and Jongin. Jongin is just as handsome and has just as a nice body as Kai, obviously, but Kyungsoo can't see Jongin the way the world sees Kai. He knows his true self that is sweet and caring and cute and perfect and exactly everything that Kyungsoo is not. How could he, a normalo with an average body, ever even dream about someone like Jongin being attracted to him?
