Jongin is strangely light hearted after that evening. Crying does do wonders to a troubled soul sometimes, Kyungsoo thinks by himself. He is greeted by coffee and rice for breakfast the next morning, and the younger seems awfully cheerful. Not that Kyungsoo isn't happy for him not being burdened anymore, but he just can't cope with overly happy people. That's also why he can't have Baekhyun around for more than a day. That and his explicit explanations about Chanyeol's and his love life make him the worst roommate the black haired has ever had.

"My manager will come around later today", Jongin mentions after they enjoyed their breakfast together. Kyungsoo nods, cleaning the bowls. "He says it's safe to go out again. You can go home now, Kyungsoo-ssi!"

But strange enough, Kyungsoo can't reply with the same cheerful smile. He feels weird. Of course does he want to go home, having his beloved bed and kitchen back, but something makes him sad about having to go home again. He just doesn't know what it is yet.

Jongin and Kyungsoo spend their remaining free time with gaming. Or rather Jongin gaming while Kyungsoo watches. He's never been the type to spend hours on virtual reality, but he likes watching his friends play because some games really do have an interesting background story. It's half past two in the afternoon as the doorbell rings and the black haired gets up. He opens the door to a very serious looking young man in a black suit. He's handsome, but by far not as handsome as Jongin. His eyes are rounder than his and his jawline isn't as sharp. His smile is friendly nevertheless.

"Hi, nice to meet you. My name is Kim Junmyeon, and I'm Jongin's manager."

They shake hands and greet each other before Junmyeon can walk over to Jongin. Kyungsoo would have assumed that the manager would order his mentee to go up and leave, but instead, he sits down on the couch and watches Jongin play. The black haired frowns, walking over to the kitchen to get some orange juice for the manager. As he returns, Jongin and Junmyeon are laughing together, and something in this image bothers him. Badly.

"Here, have some juice", Kyungsoo announces unnecessarily loud and places the glass on the tiny couch table.

"Ah, yes. Thank you, Kyungsoo-ssi." Junmyeon takes a sip and hums happily. "By the way, have you two been updated on your convenience store incident by any chance?"

Kyungsoo shakes his head and Jongin sighs annoyed.

"No, of course not", he says. "You know I don't watch any TV, and I avoided social media the past few days for reasons."

"Well then, let me educate you." Junmyeon crosses his arms before he begins to talk. "The press obviously didn't shut up about it, that's the reason you two are here. And it is good you immediately fled here, because it took approximately one minute for the paparazzi to run over the place. Luckily, the woman in the convenience store didn't recognise you", and he looks over to Kyungsoo, "and all the press has is a very blurry photo of you two running away. Of course", and the manager sighs, "is social media on fire. The most weird theories pop up out of nowhere, and sometimes, it really gets ridiculous. Some assume Kai has an affair, others spread the rumour of you two secretly dating. Whatever, it helps us. Nobody knows what actually happened, and that, my friends, is good."

And with a deep sigh, he finally gets up. "We have to go now, Jongin. You have a photo shoot in the evening for Versace, and you need to take a shower before. Get your lazy ass up, come on."

Jongin groans but listens. Junmyeon takes some things for Jongin and orders him to cover his face before leaving the house. Kyungsoo gets some of his stuff and leaves the apartment together with the two men. It all happens quickly, and he doesn't even have time to say goodbye properly. A quick "Thanks for staying with me, Kyungsoo-ssi" is everything he gets from Jongin before the taller has to follow behind Junmyeon's heels. And Kyungsoo knows it shouldn't bother him, but children also know they shouldn't climb high in the trees. Does it change anything? No. Of course it doesn't.

And like that, he exits the building and returns home. By the time he enters the familiar apartment and is greeted by dust and fuggy air, he finally knows what it is that made him sad about going home.

He'll be alone again.
