Kira's P.O.V~

Not long after the announcement, father took mother and aunt Scarlett out. They seemed to be carrying some beautiful white rose bouquets, both were wrapped tightly with a long silk ribbon. Being the curious and nosy little girl I am, I decided it would be best to tail them. Being careful, I followed them to an old building. The building was covered lightly by overhanging branches from surrounding trees. The light from above fluttered through the leaflets and almost seemed to dance on the ground. A warm spring breeze blew through the small opening. There in the front, they met aunt Scarlett's twin sister Jade, a blonde girl with long pigtails and sky blue eyes and another woman with brown hair followed by a pair of twin boys.
"Scarlett! Ashley! Long time no see!" The blonde squealed in delight as she gave the two a bear hug.
"It's been too long." Mother smiled as she replied happily, returning the hug. Scarlett wheezed at the sudden impact of the girl's tight embrace but smirked a moment later. The two boys behind the other woman quickly became shy and hid behind their mother. My dad noticed them and turned his attention towards the boys.
"Who are these two handsome little men Casey?" Father asked as he kneeled down in front of the brown haired woman named Casey. Attempting to get the young boys to warm up to him.
"They are mine and Lilly's adopted sons, Jack and John." Casey responded proudly as she looked over at Lilly with a soft gaze. Lilly smiled. Letting go of Scarlett and mother as she made her way over to Casey, intertwining her fingers with Casey. Their silver rings shimmering in the light.
'I thought that only men and women couples could get married.' I thought as I watched the two share a quick kiss.
"Congrats!" Aunt Scarlett complimented the married couple.
"Took them long enough." Jade teased, smirking at Lilly.
"S-shut up." Lilly stuttered in response, her cheeks lightly dusted a pink color. Everyone shared a small laugh.
"So, where is it?" Scarlett asked seriously. Lilly gave a halfhearted smile. Jade looked conflicted, averting her gaze from everyone there.
"He's under the cherry tree in the back." Casey spoke up. Scarlett looked over at Jade before lightly grabbing her hand.
"It's ok. Let's go together." Scarlett stated to Jade. Jade looked as though she was about to cry any moment now. She only nodded in response, holding her sister's hand as they made their way to the back with mother and father. Attempting to follow, I take a step forward. Only to find myself getting caught by father.
"Oops, hahaha." I awkwardly laughed. Father gestured me over. I quickly made my way to his side. I looked up at mother to see that her attention was elsewhere. Following her gaze I see the subject of moms attention. A two graves laid at the base of the cherry tree. The pink petals covered the ground around the tree like a blanket. Scarlett and Jade made their way over to the two graves. Laying a flower on one and the rest on the other.
"I'm sorry......I'm truly sorry for what I've done." Jade broke down in front of one of the graves apologizing.
"It's ok. If he were still here. I believe would've forgiven you. Even after what happened." Scarlett smiled at Jade. Jade's eyes filled with tears before sobbing into her sister's shoulder. Mother stayed silent, her eyes closed as she held the white rose bouquet close to her chest. Only opening her eyes when she was ready to.
"Mom. Who is this person everyone is talking about?" I ask suddenly as we reached the grave of a deceased man.
"His name was Ben Claude. Everyone who lived here at the orphanage knew him as Uncle Ben. He was a strong, kind man who always did what was best for us." Mother replied as tears pricked at the corners of her forest green eyes. Gently laying the bouquet of white roses in the center of the grave. I looked at the graves of the two.
"Who is the other one then?" I ask curiously as I look at the other grave.
"It was his wife. When she died from a ruthless plague, he still stayed loyal and never married even after she died. She was his one and only woman." Mother explained, glancing over at the other grave. I gave a saddened expression at this. Father saw this and attempted to lighten the mood.
"He is a man with no regrets. He has no regrets because he knows he saved all of our lives during this time of hardship." He explained. Mother looked up at father and smiled, nodding in response. The wind picked up slightly, blowing some of the petals off the ground to continued their dance in the wind.

"He truly was a great man."
