Jason is a young boy who lives in a cave with his family. He lives with his Mom, dad, and brother. When Jason turned ten he was given one rule he must follow until told otherwise. "Listen, son," his father said," you can never leave the cave. No matter  what happens you have to stay in here." "Why?" Jason said. "When you are older I will tell you ok," his father replied.  "Okay, dad," Jason said with an innocent smile.  Jason never questioned the rule after that day. He started to grow more curious about the outside world around his home. Every day was the same for him, wakes up, greats his family, and waits for them to return from their chores. His mother went out to collect fruits and berries. His brother, Jax, would go and hunt for small animals like rats and rabbits. His father went for larger game like deer and elk.

Five years have gone by since the day he was told to never leave and his curiosity finally peeked. He woke up one day and went to wish his family luck for there day of scavaging. He walks out the main area of the cave and everyone has already gone out. He went made himself a snack and stared outside at the cave exit.  "I wonder where they all went so early?" Jason thought to himself.  Jason started to stare intensely out the exit at a hooded figure. Jason ran to the exit and stopped dead in his tracks. He looked out the figure started to go into the woods. Jason scared they would get away and he couldn't find out how they found the cave. Jason took his first step outside for the first time after five years. After he stepped outside and there was a giant flash of light.

In the distance, his mother was picking some berries for lunch that day. She saw the light and started to run to it. Once she arrived at the source of the light she began to cry. "Jason! Why did you leave the cave!" she yelled. Jason can't move or see all he can do is listen to his mother cry. Jason begins to hear another his father and brothers voices. "Brother are you ok!" Jax called out to Jason. "What happened here?" his father asked his mother. "I don't know I was picking berries and saw the light and rushed over here to it," she replied with.  "I can tell you what happened," said a voice he has never heard before. "Why are you here?" snarled his father. Jason is now confused even more than before. "Your son saw me and left the cave before it was time," said the stranger. "Why were you here to begin with?" asked his father. "I'm here for the boy I will return in three days time and take him to his new home," the stranger said. "No, you are not taking him anywhere we already chose where to take him if this ever happened," said his mother. "Really now where might that be?" asked the stranger. "You know we can only tell the guardian that information," said Jax. "Tch, ok then I will figure it out for myself then," said the stranger. Jason now hears footsteps that most likely the strangers. One day has passed since the strangers visit and Jason has finally recovered.

Jason sat up holding his head. "Was it all just a dream or was it real," he said to himself. His mother entered his room and dropped her bowl of water. "Jason, my baby, your awake!" she screamed. She then ran over and hugged him tightly not letting him breathe. "Mother your gonna kill him," said Jax as he entered the room. Jason looked around as his mother released him from her arms. "Where did father go?" asked Jason. His mother and brother glance at one another. "He is waiting for you outside," said Jax. "Oh, why outside?" asked Jason surprised. "Sweety do you not remember what happened?" asked his mother. "So it wasn't a dream..." said Jason as he sat there quietly. "Now you mustn't keep him waiting you know how your father gets." said his mother as she pulled him off the floor. Jason began to walk outside to his father who was standing by the tree line.

"Father why do you wish to see me?" he asked hoping for some answer to yesterdays events. His father turned to him and grabbed his shoulder. Jason now confused as to why he isn't being yelled at opens his mouth only to have it shut by his father's fist. "I told you to never leave that cave why didn't you listen to me!" shouted his father as he hit and kicked Jason. Jason was now getting angry and tried to fight back. Jason went to hit his father only to fail and miss because his father dodged his punch. Jason started to swing at random out of anger. His father countered one and threw him into the ground. Jason got so angry he developed a strange aura around him and his eyes started to glow. He then got up raised his hand and shot a beam of light into his father's chest. His father went flying back through the air into the cave. His mother and brother came rushing out after his father landed. "Jason what are you doing?!" yelled his brother as his mother went in to tend to her husband. "He started to beat me so I put a stop to it," Jason said sounding like a different person. "Jason please calm down he might be dead look at what you did!" Jax yelled trying to get through to his younger brother. Jason looked into the cave at his father laying there unconscious and his mother tending to the wound. Jason's weird aura started to disappear and he calmed down. They both ran in to see their father and as soon as Jason saw him he collapsed.

Jason awoke again in his room with his father next to him. "Oh you're finally awake," his father said. "What happened to you?" Jason asked. "Do you really not remember doing this to me?" said his father confused. "I did that to you? Really?" Jason said in disbelief. "Yep, and I'm sorry for hitting you I was just so angry and I treated you unfairly." He and his father started to cry. "Father, why are you crying?" Jason said surprised and concerned. His father hands him a note and says, "Here you need to read this to your brother after your mother and I leave." "Ok when are you guys leaving?" asked Jason. "Right now, sadly, but I'm glad I got to say goodbye," his father said with a sad smile. His mother entered the room after his father had left it. "I'm so sorry for not telling you sooner about what's in that book. I hope that one day you will forgive your father and me one day. I love you Jason and goodbye." his mother said as if she would never see him again. "I'll always forgive you and I will always love you to mother," Jason said. His mother began to cry and left the room. Jax came in and helped Jason out of the room to the cave exit to wish them well. Jason sat down in the main area of the cave and started to read the note.

THE NOTE:    Jason, if you are reading this it means I have left with your mother. We won't be returning anytime soon. Our family has a secret we are direct descendants from the Vampire Blooded that means you or your brother is apart of the prophecy. Sadly it was you, Jason, we thought it was gonna be Jax because he was the firstborn, but we were wrong. We tried to use an old spell to transfer it to your brother by keeping you in the cave but you left so it failed. Now he will have to take you to another cave and leave you there. Don't be afraid your mother and I have told the people there about your arrival. The location is fifty passes North of our cave. Now Jax before you take him let him take a book from my collection. Now finally a hooded man will come by asking for Jason you have to tell him off and make sure he doesn't follow you. Jason, you won't leave that cave for awhile so good luck son.

Jason looked up at Jax and started to sob. "Jason, what's wrong?" Jax asked. "This would have never happened if I had just listened," he said crying. Jax now feeling bad for his younger brother said, "I will find you after you leave that cave ok, I promise." "Really," Jason asked out of fear of losing his family. "Yes now let's go," replied Jax. The two brothers started to walk out into the woods. The hooded man came out onto the path. "Why hello boys," he said with a small smirk on his face, "where might you be heading?" "Go away our family matters don't concern you," Jax said clearly angry. "Oh, now is this Jason the boy of the hour. It's quite nice to meet you," the stranger said sarcastically. "Who are you?" Jason asked him. "I am a guardian and that's all I will tell you, now where are you going?" he replied with. Jax comes in and tried to punch the man. The stranger grabbed Jax's fist and head-butted him. Jax now laying on the ground unconscious. "Now that the problem is gone let's talk," said the stranger as he wiped the blood off his face. Jason drops to the ground to check his brother and notices there is nothing wrong with him its as if he has never been hit. "What did you do to him?" Jason asked shocked. "Its magic kid have you never seen it before?" the stranger asked. "Magic is a myth," Jason said. "Only guardians and the blooded can use it that is why it is thought to be a myth," replied the stranger, "Now I see that you know nothing of your heritage you pose no threat to my master." After he said that he disappeared. Jax woke up after the stranger had gone away. "Where is he," he screamed out of complete rage. "He's gone now it's ok," said Jason to comfort his brother. Jax grabbed Jason's face and said, "Did he hurt you at all?" "I'm fine ok he didn't hurt me or you," he replied. Jax felt his head there was no pain at all. "How did he do this," asked Jax. "He said he used magic," replied Jason. Jason helps up Jax and they continued to walk. Jax is quiet and Jason doesn't want to interrupt his train of thought. They reach the cave entrance Jax looks to his brother and nods. Jason nods back and walks into the cave.
