The Blooded

The Test

      After Custos finished telling Jason about the prophecy he sat in silicene collecting his thoughts, the Chief had finally arrived. "Sorry I took so long I had a meeting with the council and Mike," said the Chief. "So what did y'all decide for the two blooded that wound up in the village," asked Custos. "We have decided that Mike and Jason will get to go on one date with Kim and whoever she chooses shall date her if she wants that," said the Chief. After hearing this Jason's eyes went wide. "Wait so I get to take Kim on an actual date?" asked Jason "Don't get your hopes up boy Mike will get to go on the first date," said the Chief. "OK I understand," Jason said. "I will call for Mike and Kim and explain the rules to all of you," said the Chief as he left the room. "Jason, while Mike and Kim go on there, date you need to talk to Rosa and some of the maids and see what Kim is into and take her on a date. You need to win this if you lose the world may be in danger," said Custos. "What do you mean," asked Jason. "I can't say anything else or I could get in trouble," Custos said as she glances around the room. "OK, well how long until I can leave this room?" Jason asked as he stared at the door. "You should be able to leave after the healer does a final check-up."

       "Jason hello I'm the villages healer Markov," he said looking at some papers. "So you blacked out after hitting Mike if I am correct," he said flipping threw his papers. "Yeah I guess so," Jason said looking down at his hand. "Did you feel anything during that moment?" Markov questioned. "Um, a sudden surge of... I guess energy," Jason replied still looking down at his hand. "Hmm ok I have no clue what happened other than you could have blacked out from getting hit so many times," he said putting the papers down. "Um, Custos what would cause that energy surge," Jason asked looking scared. She looked at the scared child and said, "Your power but get up and go figure out what this girl likes." Markov then said, "Oh yes you are excused from care." and began to walk out of the room. Custos looked at Jason and followed the healer out of the room.

      Jason went out to the chief's house where he was held captive for a few hours. Jason walked to the chief's conference room where he saw Kim and Mike. "Ah Jason are you here to see them off on there date they have today," the Chief said with a smile on his face. "Um no sir I came to see Kim but if she is about to leave then I will be on my way," Jason said as he began to head to the door. Kim reached out to him and opened her mouth but was stopped by her father before she could speak. Jason ran to Kim's sister's room once he got there he was very hesitant about knocking. "Should I really start asking questions about her, or would that be weird," he mumbled to himself. While Jason stood there debating whether to knock or not he didn't hear Kim's sister come up from behind him. "Um can I help you?" she said as he jumped in confusion and fear. "Hey Rose can I ask you a few questions about Kim please?" he asked while blushing out of embarrassment. "Yeah sure what do you want to know?" she said with a kind smile. "Ah really thank you," he said with a stupid grin across his face. Jason began asking simple questions about her personality and the things she likes. 

     Jason now had a set plan for his date with Kim thanks to Rosa he will have to repay her later. Jason began to walk back to where he was supposed to meet with Kim after her date with Mike. Jason sat down and started to plan how the date would go accordingly. While he was planning Kim and Mike were finishing up the last part of there date dinner a restaurant. "I found this place from one of the guard's recommendations and thought you might like it," Mike sadly looking at the menu. Kim sat silently reading the menu as well. "So do you know what you would like to order yet?" Mike asked looking up at her. She glanced up at him then back at the menu "No, not yet I'm thinking of trying the fried fish," said Kim. "What a wonderful choice my dear," Mike said with a fake smile. The waiter comes to the table and takes their orders. "Hello, I'm Don and I'll be waiting on you for the rest of the night," She said with a grin. "Why hello to you Don," Mike said looking her up and down. Kim noticing what he did just rolls her eyes. "Hi, I would like the fried fish with a side of potatoes please," Kim said politely. "Ah, a wonderful choice I would like a steak made rare please and a side of fried potatoes if you wouldn't mind," said Mike. Don wrote down their orders and walked away. "So what was that about?" Kim asked raising one eyebrow. Mike nervously responded, "What was what Kimmy dear?" " The look you gave that girl what was that?" she said starting to get annoyed. Mike sat there trying to think of an excuse but he couldn't think of anything. "That's what I thought," Kim said as she stormed out of the restaurant.

    Kim now in tears heading back home not from heartbreak but humiliation sees Jason sitting on the steps grinning to himself. Jason looks up to see Kim upset, "Kim are you okay?" he says jumping up from the stairs. "I'm not in the mood just leave me alone," she says pushing passed him. Jason quickly grabs her arm and pulls her into a hug. "Whenever I was sad or crying my mother would do this for me," he said as he began to pet her head humming. Kim started to cry a little harder into Jason's shoulder. "Now do you want to tell what happened that caused you to cry?" Jason asked still holding Kim in his arms. "Mike was checking out our waitress at Bonbears Restaurant, and it just embarrassed me," she said still sniffling. "Well now that's not right we should tell the chief of what he has done," Jason said furrowing his brow. "It's no use my father will take his word over mine," Kim said finally pushing Jason away from her a little. Jason stared at the poor girl's puffy eyes from where she was crying and began to get angry.

     In the distance, they could hear someone calling out for Kim. Jason and Kim both look into the direction of where the voice is coming from only to see Mike. Jason then pushes Kim behind him as his eyes meet Mikes. "Hah, I should have known I would find you with her," Mike said with a scoff. "I think you should just go home Mike," Kim said quietly. Mike reaches for Kim as he says, "Oh dear, have you forgotten we still have an hour left in our date before I have to escort you home." "NO," she yelled," this date ended as soon as you started to look at that girl as more than just a waitress." Mike now clearly upset began to reach for the girl. Jason threw Kim out of his range causing her to fall. "Now Kim dear you need to finish this date with me," he said with a low growl. "Mike, she said no leave her alone she is clearly upset," Jason said turning to Kim. While Jason has his back turned Mike punches him, and grabs Kim. "We will be leaving now, so stay in the dirt where you belong," Mike proclaimed with his head held high. Jason still dazed from the hit lays there on the ground as they walk away.
