It had been a few weeks since I had the dream. I had pushed it as far out of my mind as I possibly could. The things I managed to draw from that dream was the menacing creature, and I was sure I hadn't finished it. I hadn't had a crystal dream since then. Right now we were going on a mission.
I had put on my armor, strapped a jet pack on, and then put my blasters into my holsters. I was pretty well rounded in the weapon area. To survive I had to learn how to defend my self with any thing I could get my hands on. My favorite was probably my swords though. Mia passed me, and patted me on the back.
I nodded. I hadn't told anyone about the dream, but I'm pretty sure Mia knew something, she just didn't know what yet. This mission was to retrieve a droid that had some data that Big Brother would really like to get their hands on, and we couldn't let them. It had information on the whereabouts of certain resistance bases. Olivia landed on the base.
Olivia, Colten, and Bane would be our eyes in the sky. Harper, Mia, and I would be the boots on the ground. We got out of the ship, and Olivia took off waiting for our signal to come get us. When my feet touched the ground I immediately headed towards cover. The shadows covered me.
Mia and Harper were on the opposite side of the path. We had been told a code phrase that would unlock the droid. I looked around, and spotted a pile of droids. I gestured for Harper and Mia for them to know that I found one. They nodded. I snuck over to the pile of droids.
I whisper the code phrase a couple times at different angles, so if the droid heard it, it would spring to life. Eventually one of them did. I made sure I was the first person the droid saw.
"Hey, we're here to get you to safety." I whisper.
The droid makes a couple noises. I nod, then lead it back the way I came. When I got it back to Mia and Harper they took the droid from me, and headed outside. We gave the signal to Olivia to come get us. She started heading down.
The mission was going fine, and I couldn't help, but feel like it was wrong. It felt like it was too easy. The second Olivia touched down that's when the uneasy feeling I was having paid off. A bunch of Big Brother fighters started towards us. They had come from nowhere.
I urged Mia to get aboard with the droid. She looked upset, but did. I couldn't risk getting rid of Harper, she was our strongest weapon, and I was already occupied. A man was pursuing me with a blaster. So far I was able to dodge his blasts.
I wasn't a registered crystal-user, so I wasn't able to use my crystals, but I had a blaster, on me, and a whip. I fired my blaster at the guy. He was able to dodge it, so then I took out my whip, and threw it. It wrapped around his gun, and I was able to yank it out of his hand. I pulled it over to me, and I caught it.
I fired at him, and he was able to dodge everything. I only realized he had pulled me away from the group when I realized we were in a forest. I groan inwardly, and then use the crystal when he wasn't looking to freeze him, then I fired the blaster at him. It hit him and he died. I stopped using my crystal.
I threw the blaster onto the ground, then started heading back the way I came to find my way back to the ship. I felt something and froze. Before I could figure out what it was I felt myself be frozen by a crystal. Then my opponent came out from hiding. I saw him, and I felt like my blood froze over.
It was Lincoln. He was actually here, and he was the one crystal freezing me. I struggled against him, but he held tightly to me.
"Where's the droid?" Lincoln asks.
I don't answer him. He then turns his attention to my brain, and I felt like fingers were prodding my brain for information. I tried to put a wall up, but he was already very deep into my mind.
"So, you know what the droid was holding. I don't need the droid anymore." Lincoln says.
I feel a command of sleep enter my brain, and I fall asleep. Before I'm completely unconscious I feel Lincoln pick me up, and carry me. I could feel the ship take off.
