I walked on through the bowels of this afterlife,
heard shrieks of enchanting words which gave me respite,
but the belly of Pandora roared sick in time
and I fell into different bouts of thought and rhyme.
The horn bellowed, the horn always seems to bellow!
To this day, I'd wondered, on such a dreary night,
what the veterans of the first world-war would say.
Will they cry or kick and scream in total dismay,
as I follow the ways of Tartarus' grave?
