I walked on through the bowels of this afterlife,

heard shrieks of enchanting words which gave me respite,

but the belly of Pandora roared sick in time

and I fell into different bouts of thought and rhyme.

The horn bellowed, the horn always seems to bellow!

To this day, I'd wondered, on such a dreary night,

what the veterans of the first world-war would say.

Will they cry or kick and scream in total dismay,

as I follow the ways of Tartarus' grave?
