Ch.5 A Game of Questions

"That was pretty hot Princess. I mean Jones was wide eyed shit confused!" The tall serpent chuckled while sitting down next to the new girl.

"What was 'hot'? She asked confused.

He barked a laugh.

"You walking up to Jones and threatening him was hot."

"Oh."

"You wanna skip and go to Pops? We only have two classes left."

"I don't want Jughead to get mad again, so I th-"

"You afraid of Jones, Princess?"

"Well, uh, a bit."

Sweet Pea was not expecting that answer from his joke. He was sure she wouldn't be afraid of 'harmless Jones'. He just didn't have a clue that she wasn't afraid of her cousin but the man who he reminded her of.

"I promise he won't get mad, Princess."

"You promise you'll hide me if he comes?"

"Course."

The door of the abandoned classroom flew open and banged closed two seconds later with the click of a lock.

Toni looked up from her computer screen to a confused Jughead.

"If you wanted us to be alone so bad Jones, you could've just asked."

"Whats wrong with Fuego? Toni you gotta tell me!"

Toni thought about her promise to her best friend. He was gonna find out at some point anyway, why not now?

"Okay, okay Jones! You can't tell Fuego I told you because I was sworn to B-B-A-S-N-G-N-B-T-S-I-O-C, which stands for 'Best Bro's And Sisters No Gender Needed Because That Shit Is Old Club'-"

"Come on Toni!"

"Just don't tell her I told you, okay? She told me last night, may I add while crying her eyes out, that you sounded like her step dad when you yelled at her yesterday in Pops. She has scars on her back Jug! Huge ones!"

Toni bursted out and Jughead held a horrified face.

"No, no, no Toni. This can't be happen-"

"Calm down Jug! Everything will be fine. Just maybe stay away for a bit. She's still, uh, kinda, uh-"

"What Toni?! Scared of me?! My cousin, my bestfriend, my sister is scared of me?!? Yeah I know, because I got fucking mad for no reason and took it out on her!" Jughead shouted.

"Yes Jughead! Fuego is fucking scared of you at this given moment because she doesn't know what to feel! She hasn't ever been shouted at or gotten mad at without someone fucking beating her afterwards!"

It was silent for a few moments.

"Look Jug, Sweet Pea is with her at the moment. He seems to like her, which is surprising. Just maybe swing by later and sort it out between you two, okay? I gotta go find Fangs."

"You wanna play twenty questions? I mean we don't have to, but I don't really kno-"

"Sure, Sweet Pea. You ask first."

"What age are you?"

"Sixteen. You?"

"Seventeen, eighteen next month. What height are you?"

"Really? What height am I? five two. Yourself?"

"six five. How do you know Jughead?"

"He's my cousin. But we've been best friends since we were in diapers. When did you first meet Toni?"

"I met her when I was twelve, some ghoulies were picking on her. When did you join the serpents?"

"Its not like I ever did join. I was always in the gang; ever since I came out of the womb. I was actually born in FP's office. I never did an initiation because everyone knew I was loyal. I learned the Serpent laws before I learnt the alphabet. When did you join?"

"When I was eleven. My dad had betrayed the serpents and left Riverdale. My mom left soon after. I didn't have anyone but the serpents."
