The car moved quickly beneath us, taking us to the closest pack. The Lycan pack, the pack that used to be my second home.

I had to say I was kind of dreading going back there. Even after all the great things I had learned, the only feeling that stuck was the heartbreak and anger. All because of him

He didn't even give me a proper goodbye. He never showed up at the busstation to wave us off like the rest of the Lycan pack did.

Well, neither did Liecia Lycan. They must've been preoccupied.

With eachother.

The thought of them together, made my wolf growl.

Luckily I was the one in charge.

These thoughts weren't mine, they were hers.

In my reasonable human mind I had written Darrow out of my life.

He was practically nothing but the fath-

No.

He wasn't.

I shook my head, making my mind go elsewhere.

After clearing the rest of the forest of men, we loaded everyone up in trucks marked with red crosses. Natasha was in the back together with Cedric, looking after Darrow.

Hope and me were sitting in the backseat and Basia was next to the driver.

Hope was nervously playing with her nails. She was probably worrying about her mom.

When she left to join the healing forces, she had already run with her mother. Her pack was destroyed by a bigger, power seeking pack.

Her brother is out there somewhere, and she wrote to him everyday in her journal.

I didn't think she noticed that Basia and I kept an eye on her.

I heard nothing coming from the back. He was probably sedated. I wondered how Natasha was handeling it on her own back there. Basia offered to help her, but Cedric insisted that he sat by Darrow's side.

He must be his Beta.

The drive passed by quickly, but maybe that had something to do with the fact that my mind was full of emotions. My wolf was tugging at me to comfort her mate, while I normally could barely feel her.

But even if she wanted to, my mind was in the right place. He hurt us, left us broken and never looked back.

"Look at what he left you with," I told myself, repeating it a thousand times.

That wasn't right, I couldn't blame the consequences. It wasn't fair to do that, I knew that.

Driving into the pack I saw that it was almost the exact same as when I last saw it two years ago. The homes were in rows all lining up to a big square. The alpha's house was farther down.

Big fields with just grass with a border of forests, the Lycan pack was one of the most beautiful ones out there.

We stopped at the medical centre, a two story building made out of cement. It looked like it did back then.
