BETTY'S POV

"Lollypop, lollypop, ooh lolly lolly lolly..."

My hands were shaking. I looked to Veronica pleadingly, but she was still frozen in shock. I reluctantly inched towards the phone and answered it.

"H-Hello?" I stammered.

"Good morning, Betty, " the voice grumbled, "I believe you have something that I want."

I tried to speak courageously, "You're never getting Cheryl back."

"Tsk, tsk, tsk, let's not get ahead of ourselves. I have a more pressing matter, namely the fact that your pink-haired rodent injured me."

"Good," I laughed, "but where are you going with this?"

"I want Sabrina."

"What? Why?" I yelled.

The Black Hood barked, "She's the best doctor in town! Has a cure for everything! Bring her to the border of Greendale and Riverdale at 10 pm. I don't want to shed any pure blood tonight. After all, she's one of the few people left in this rotten world with a clean record. But if I don't get her, I'll have to take her myself."

The room was silent.

He whispered, lips right on the phone, "You won't like that, Elizabeth Cooper."

He hung up.

TONI'S POV

I hoisted Cheryl into the wheelchair. Wheezing, I straightened her up.

"TT, I can do it myself," she insisted.

"No way. I don't want you to strain at all." I wheeled her out the door, nodding at Eloise once again, and loaded her into the car.

Cheryl smiled at me. "Thank you, Toni. How's my cousin? And my bestie?"

"They're fine," I started, "They're staying with one of Jughead's friends."

"Who?"

"Sabrina Spellman."

Cheryl nearly leaped out of her wheelchair. "The Sabrina Spellman? World renowned doctor Sabrina Spellman?"

"You know who she is?" I said in confusion. I knew that she had always had a knack for science and medicines, but I never dreamed that she'd know who our host was.

"Duh!" Cheryl rolled her eyes. "She's only the youngest ever recipient of the State Doctoral Award!"

I blushed, embarrassed that I hadn't bothered to look into Sabrina's familiar name.

Her eyes widened. She grabbed my forearm. "Do you know what this means?"

I shook my head. What is she going on about?

"She invented some of the fastest acting medicines in history, and nobody else knows how to replicate it. It's like magic!"

"And?" I queried.

"Isn't it obvious?" she harped. "She can heal me! I could be helping you catch the Black Hood by the end of the week."

"Are you sure you'd be up to it? It seems pretty risky and if nobody else can test it, it might not be completely safe. We could end up right where we started," I said uneasily.

"I'm sure," she said firmly.

I was just locking up the car when my phone started screaming like a banshee. Betty's name was flashing on the screen. I quickly snatched it up.

"Hey. I was starting to get worried... we haven't heard from you in a while."

Betty was in a complete panic. "Toni we need you to get down here right now!"
