"OHMYCELESTIA. YOU'VE NEVER HAD A CUPCAKE BEFORE????" Sandy yelled his question at me, rather than asked it, as we stopped abruptly in front of the little shop that he said sold these so-called 'cupcakes'.
"Well I guess I haven't. Even more so because I don't know what this 'cupcake' thing you speak of is." I answered, confused because of his reaction.
I looked at the shop again, and it was so cute! It was pink, and it looked like there was snow or something on it. And it also looked layered. There was white smoke coming from a chimney, and it had this heavenly smell emanating from inside.
"WE NEED TO CHANGE THAT RIGHT NOW. COME ONNN!!" Sandy suddenly dragged me into the shop, literally, he actually dragged me along the floor. There was a bell on the door that dinged when we entered, and I of course noticed the tile floor, and the counter he stopped in front of that I hit my head on.
I just got back on my hooves and dusted myself off, when a pink pony came zooming over to the other side of the counter that we were standing in front of. The general color of the shop was pink, but the counters were also white. Behind the counter was just a wall that had a whiteboard showing what all the cupcake flavors and such were. There was also a door with no knob that I assume led to the kitchen.
"HEY EVERYPONY!!!! WELCOME TO SUGAR CUBE CORNER!!!! WHO ARE YOU? DID YOU JUST MOVE HERE? DO YOU WANT A WELCOMING PARTY? DO YOU WANT TO BE MY FRIIIEEEENNNDDS???" She said this all super fast, and she was starting to scare me. She was pink, and had a curly darker pink mane and tail. Her eyes were this metallic shade of blue. And she was wearing an apron with little pink hearts on it.
"Pinkie! It's me, Sandy! Remember? I'm Rainbow Dash's older brother!" Sandy reminded her as he brushed back some of his glittering white mane.
"OHHH YEAAAHHH! HI SANDY! IT'S BEEN TOO LONG! DO YOU STILL WANT A WELCOMING PARTY? AND WHY IS YOUR FRIEND MAKING A WEIRD FACE AT ME????" She asked as she turned her attention towards me.
The face I was making was this: O.O
So in other words, my eyes were wider than my head was. For me, that's saying something.
"Oh! Pinkie Pie, this is my new friend Artea Brushstroke. I met her on the train over. She's here to find her own home, and to get a job!" He grinned.
"OH! HI! MY NAME IS PINKIE PIE! YOU CAN CALL ME PINKIE! DO YOU STILL WANT A WELCOMING PARTY? I LIKE YOUR WINGS! HOW COME YOU DON'T HAVE A CUTIE MARK?"
"Hi Pinkie! No thanks, I don't want a welcoming party. And I don't know, what's a cutie mark for anyway?" I asked her.
"Well, a cutie mark shows what you do and stuff like that. I arrange parties! So my cutie mark is a bunch of balloons!"
"Wow! Well, I mostly draw and sing... I dance too, but not as well as drawing or singing." I answered her.
"What? You didn't tell me you SING! Or DANCE! Or DRAW!!!" Sandy said his mouth gaping and his eyes wide.
"Well, you never asked!"
"Well, whatever. Let's get what we came here for. PINKIE! I'D LIKE ONE CUPCAKE PLEASE!!!" He said to Pinkie excitedly.
"OKI DOKI LOKI!!! WHAT KIND? NO CHARGE!"
"SUPRISE ME." He said.
Pinkie bounced off through the door to where I'm assuming led to the kitchen, with her mane and tail bouncing along with her. Right when she was out of sight and earshot, Sandy turned to me with adoring eyes, and sighed deeply.
"Is she always like that?" I asked Sandy while I recovered from my first dose of Pinkie Pie.
"Yeah. But when she gets sad or depressed, her hair straightens. Its really weird."
