I woke up wondering where I was and how I got there. Where am I? And why am I here? I wiped the sleep out of my eyes with my hoof, and looked around. I was sitting on a cusioned bench, and there was a window to my left. And also more benches to my right. It seemed as if I was in some kind of vehicle.

The air smelled fresh, and I could hear rattling and the rush of wind. And also the squeaking of wheels.

"Miss, would you like anything?" Somepony asked.

I turned to see a pony in a uniform pushing a small food cart.

"Um, no thank you." I said my voice a bit raspy.

She nodded and continued along the aisle.

Oh! Now I remember! I'm taking the train to Ponyville! I'm going to fufill my dreams of becoming an artist, and having my own home! I'm so excited! I'm going to make SO many friends, and its just going to be wonderfull...

I went over to the window and gazed upon all of the nature of Ponyville. I haven't breathed such fresh air in a long time. I took a big breath, and got lightheaded. But in a good way.

Then the intercom interrupted my moment.

"Hello everypony! We are approaching Ponyville! Anyone who is arriving at Ponyville, please get all of your belongings ready!" The Pony on the intercom said gleefully.

Oh! I should get all my things ready, I thought. I don't have that much stuff, actually. Just a backpack. That's it. I came really prepared.

I looked up above the seat in front of me, to see the pony that was speaking on the intercom. She had a black coat, and a red mane and tail. Such odd colors for a pony.

Odd colors? I shouldn't be talking! For, I'm a pink pony with a super long sparkly aquagreen mane and tail. All the ponies at home are actually just plain brown or black. And all the colorful ponies like me were kept away, in fear that the others would get 'infected'.

*by sparkly, I mean there are strands that just shine~sand*

I glanced around the rest of the train, and saw so many colors, my eyes almost popped out of my head! There was a blue pony with a white mane, a purple pony with a yellow mane, and so many others!

I guess I must have been staring because the blue pony looked back at me and said something.

"Miss, are you alright? You've been staring for a while." His masculine voice startled me.

He broke me out of my daze, and I shakily responded, "Uh... um no... I'm fine. Thank you."

I turned away from him, slunked down in my seat and scolded myself. You know staring is rude! And rude ponies get the consequence! The consequence of.... of....

"N-no.... Not the consequence of..." I cringed to myself trying to restrain my tears. But I failed.

"Shhh...sh... i-its okay... you're alright.... You're going to Ponyville... Away from all of that, all of them...." I kept comforting myself.

I brought my head up and tried to act normal. But I could still feel the tears coming down my face.

"Miss...? Are you alright? Are you crying?" It was the blue pony again. He galloped over to my seat and sat next to me, and handed me a tissue which I gratefully took.

"There, there, are you okay now?" He asked me full of worry. Worry? We've just met? No, we haven't even met yet. Why worry for a total and complete stranger?

"Y-yes, thank you." I stared into his deep green eyes. They were the color of the kelp on the bottom of the sea...

"Where are you headed?" He asked me.

"Oh, uh... Ponyville." I shakily answered again. Why does he want to know?

"Really! So am I! What a coinkydink!" He said smiling dorkily.

I smiled a true smile back at him. Then he handed me his hoof and I shook it.

"Hello, my name is Sandy. Sandy Shells." He introduced.

"Hello Sandy. My name is Artea Brushstroke." He seemed like a nice guy. We ended up taking about random things, the beauty of Ponyville, how comfy these seats were, how they should serve apples on the food carts...

"Well, I'm actually going to Ponyville to meet a relative of mine." He said, "Her name is Rainbow Dash."

As he said this, I realized he had a horn on his head, and that he had this picture of seashells on his side.

"Why do you have a horn? And what's that mark on you?" I asked him confused. The ponies back home had neither. This is another reson why I'm going to Ponyville. I have wings. Not the strange mark though.

"Well, I'm a unicorn!" He said grinning, "And this is my cutie mark, a bunch of shells! Because I collect shells."

"Oh. I don't have a horn. I have wings!" I said as I spread out my large wings.

"Wow! I've always wished I had wings..." Sandy said as he admired my wings, "That means you're a pegasi."

"I can't fly. Or at least, not that I know of." I told him.

"Well Rainbow Dash can teach you! She's the best at flying. I'm sure she'd be glad to give you a couple lessons!" He told me excitedly.

"Okay cool!" I responded.

It seems that my trip to Ponyville won't be as bad as I thought. I even made a friend, and I'm not even there yet.
