08. catching up

she's in front of you, now, 
all caught up
running a slow pace. 
you thought you could escape her
but little did you know
how foolish you were being
even when you didn't slow. 

she warned you once
she warned you twice
but you didn't think 
she was that wise. 

so many others tried
the same thing you did
and even they underestimated her
and her evils ways. 

she's known as the reaper
and you're all for her
but all you could hope, 
despite knowing you were a goner, 
was that she wouldn't catch up 
to where you were.
