Chapter 1 (Why?)

Music- Zendaya~ Too Much

~Zoey's POV~

   Me - "First off, I would just like to say that I am so happy that my mom finally found love again. She is the most giving person I know and we've been together... just us for some time now. So she's not only my mom but she's my best friend. I love you mom. And one of the blessings of this union is that we have a whole new collection of people that we will be living with. There's Ted, Adam, Zach, and Ben. My mom always says that change is another word for opportunity. And this is an opportunity to live with four guys and their mysterious oders that they always blame on the dog. Oh that's right and I almost forgot... there is our dog Humphrey. Humphrey is also a male. So will we all please join a toast to this perfect - ·"

Then before I knew It Adam had accidentally let the dog go. The dog started running around and it started jumping over the table.... and then the table started swaying back and fourth and the chocolate fountain wasted all over me. Then I knew that this was gonna be the worst time of my life.

Me - "To my new family."

***A Week Later***

Ted - "Its go time it's 6:45 a.m. boys up, up, up let's get it movin' let's get it movin' !"

I woke up to the sound of my step dad yelling. This family is already annoying. I walked out of my room and walked over to Ted.

Ted - "Hey girl, gal. "

Me - "Ted, what is going on are we being invaded?"

Ted - "Oh, this is just a ritual we do on school days... and please were family now, call me dad!"

I was in my bathroom when I heard my little step brother walk in.

Me - "Uh, hello I'm... already in here this is my bathroom. "

Ben - "You do know that there are only two bathrooms in the house, we gotta share. "

I sighed. He started going through my makeup bag.

Ben - "What's this a nose brush?"

Me - "That is my mascara thank you. "

Ben - "Acne squad face healer?"

Me - "Put that down. "

He then took my baby powder that was in my bag and started pounding on it, realizing that powder was coming out of it but it was really smoke.

Me - "Really? *gag*

I went to the toilet and it looked disgusting.

Me - "Ew! Doesn't anybody in this house no about good hygiene?"

I was walking downstairs and saw Ben feeding Humphrey a colored pencil. And then Adam started running down the stairs looking for his stuff in a hurry.

Adam - "Where's my stuff... my shoes, my belt, my wallet... I'm forgetting something. "

Ben - "Your pants. "

Adam - "Yes! My pants. Where are my pants?"

He started searching the couch and he started backing up  until he was literally on me.

Me - "Okay! Can we just establish some ground rules here please? 1) if you are not wearing pants please stay out of my personal space mode and 2) if a girl is in the bathroom then she should be able to remain alone in the bathroom. "

Adam - "Look Zoey, I have morning basketball practice and then a player's meeting and then a captain's meeting and then even more practicing and that's before class even starts okay. My point is we have systems in this house, we work together like a well oiled machine. And hey your probably not going to get much alone time in the bathroom so... ooo it's pancake day!"

He ran straight past me and went to the kitchen.

Me - "Ooo sick em boy!"

Ben - "You clearly lack the fundamental understanding of dogs. It's a known scientific fact that they never betray their own instincts, or turn against their own pack. Everybody knows this, I can recommend some reading if you'd like. "

Me - "I think I'm good... thanks. "

I walked into the kitchen when I heard all of this noise and found Zach, Adam, and Ted making a really gross breakfast that was mixed together with a whole bunch of other items in the blender. And just when I thought my day couldn't get any better it got worse. My stupid brother Zach forgot to put the top lid on the blender and he turned It on it and I got a little bit of stains on my jacket.

Me - "You forgot the... lid."

I was walking into the living room and I saw my mom folding some clothes.

Me - "Mom is it gonna be like this everyday?"

I finished my sentence just before I tripped over some exercise equipment.

Me - "Ow."

Mom - "No, no... maybe. We are used to doing things a certain way and the boys are used to doing things... a totally different way. Hey, I have something for you."

She looked in the box and picked up my old music box that I used to have when I was little.

Me - "My old music box. Do you remember when dad got me this on one of his old business trips?"

Mom - "I remember. "

Me - "I always dreamed of living in this castle. "

Mom - "I bet that castle had terrible cell reception. "

Me - "And we both know I couldn't live with that. "

Mom - "So first day at your new high school... are you excited ?"

Me - "Kinda. "

Mom - "Well ill see you at school bye honey. "

Me - "Bye mom. "
