As we slowed down to a stop, both me and Squirrel were out of breath. I hopped off to drink some water. I decided to take her tack off except her martingale and bridal. I set them on the hitching rale and tied her to it as well.
I made that hitching rale out of nails, wood, and a kitchen knife. Took me three weekends but in the end, it was worth it! I brang a bucket as well for Squirrel.
I poured some of my drinking water into her bucket and held it to her nose until she took it out. Once she was done I drank the rest of the water in my bottle. I opened the basket I brought and started munching on a peanut butter sandwich.
I decided to let Squirrel graze while I ate, so I untied her and rested the reins on her neck. She nibbled at the grass cheerfully munching away when I heard a noise.
RUSSEL. RUSSEL.
Both me and Squirrel snapped out heads to the bush fearful of what it could be. I hesitantly got up and when to my saddle. I grabbed my pocket knife and started slowly sneaking to the bushes. Slowly, slowly. Once I had full on eye contact with the bush I turned back to Squirrel, I had her full attention, she didn't even look at the grass.
RUSSEL. RUSSEL.
I heard it again.. So I jumped behind the bush grabbing whatever thing was back there, closed my eyes and started to swing my knife at it!
"WAIT! It's just me!!" I heard a familiar voice shout, trembling with fear. I stopped right before the knife could even touch the the thing.
I opened my eyes and saw.. You guessed it, Jace... I got up, put away my pocket knife and just left. I wasn't having it right now, I stomped towards my picnic set up and started packing. I quickly shoved everything into my saddle pocket, and mounted Squirrel when I heard.
"Hey, wait up! Geez, you don't just try to kill someone then leave!" He exclaimed annoyingly, though I could tell he was still a little shaken up.
"Yes, I can." I said not even turning around to face him.
He let out a big sigh, "Geez, what is up with you? Do you even know the definition of polite?" He asked, rhetorically.
"Nope." I said popping the 'p'
"Whatever, just wait up!"
"What do you want-" I was cut off after I looked to see his horse. Dang, how did I not notice he brought a horse with him.. I must need glasses or something.
"Okay so.. Where to now?" He asked, like he was tagging along.
"Well I don't know about you but I'M continuing my horses' training. Without you."
"Okay, I'll just have to follow you then!"
I smirked thinking what would come next, I turned Squirrel around forcing his horse to halt.
"I guess I'll just have to beat you there then!" I said, snapping Squirrel back around (Note to self: Work on turning) galloping away. All I heard was the wind and all I saw was Squirrels ear pinned forward...
