As Shay stared at Min Woo in shock, the store owner that had chased off the teen girls from the alley walked over to them and addressed Min Woo. "They ran to the other end of the alley. I expect them back to make sure they didn't miss anything so you should go sit in the back room until it's clear. Your Aunt says that you can hide out in the shop until the market clears."
"Thanks, Uncle." Min Woo said. He then took Shay's hand and walked her to the back of the store and through a back door. Inside he sat Shay down and started pulling fruit and veggies out of her hair and clothes. Shay was still a little too shocked to do more than watch Min Woo pull food out of her hair and wipe egg off her face.
"How?" Shay looked at him.
"Sasaengs can be a nasty group" Min Woo replies.
"No," Shay grabs his hand. "Why are you here?"
Min Woo stopped picking food out of her clothing and looked at her gently. Her eyes were still round with alarm. She had yet to calm down. Min Woo's heart broke a little as he realized Shay had just experienced everything she was afraid of since she walked through the front door of the house.
Before he could answer a woman came in with towels, a new set of clothes and some food. "Take her to go clean up in the restroom. When it's clear, we'll get someone to come take you safely out of the market."
"Thank you, Aunt," Min Woo said.
The older woman smiled at Min Woo and patted his shoulder. She took a long look at Shay and smiled at her. "Don't let those kids get you upset. They don't know any better. You are in good hands now. You just get cleaned up and rest here for awhile." She then got up and walked out of the backroom into the store.
"Come on, Shay, let's get you cleaned up." Min Woo said softly. Shay was still recovering from the shock and followed him to the restroom where they used the towels to clean as much of the mess as they could. She stood there with a sad expression on her face while Min Woo took the damp towel and wiped her face and neck. He also noticed the scrapes on her palms and gently wiped the dirt from her hands. There wasn't much he could do about the egg in her hair, but once her skin was clean, he handed her the new clothes and stepped out so she could get changed.
When Shay was done, she came out and sat back down at the table where Min Woo's Aunt had laid some food for them to eat. Min Woo gave her a water bottle and she took a long drink. Closing her eyes, she wanted to just disappear. This was everything she had ever been afraid of. Her eyes popped open as she remembered she'd even dreamed of this very type of thing happening just the other night. Was it a warning? Was the universe trying to tell her something? Oh my gosh, what did she get herself into?
Min Woo watched as Shay's face got more alarmed and he took her hands, removed the water bottle and turned her to face him. He waited until she was ready to really look at him, which took her a little while. Eventually, she calmed down and looked into Min Woo's face.
Again, she repeated her question, "Why were you here, Min Woo? I thought you had to film today?"
"My family has a couple of shops in this market. That flower shop belongs to my mom's sister. This shop belongs to my dad's brother. My parents met here in this market. If I wasn't acting, I'd be running one of the family businesses. I had Jae Wook bring you here so my family could meet you without raising any suspicions. That was my mom who gave you those flowers." Shay gasped at his words, "There was no way I was going to miss out on today."
Shay felt stunned. She had had no idea and now she was really worried, "What a terrible impression I must have made today," she said sadly.
Min Woo shook his head, "No, you were fine. My family understood what was going on. Didn't you hear my Aunt? They like you."
The enormity of what was going on hit Shay hard and her eyes started to fill with tears. Too much stress built up and her poor body couldn't handle it. As she started to cry, Min Woo took Shay into his arms and cuddled her. He just held her while she cried away the stress from the last hour. As she cried, he left little kisses on her forehead and the top of her hair...egg residue notwithstanding. He hugged her and kissed her forehead again. He wiped her tears with his fingers and then left kisses where they had been. Shay raised her face as he comforted her and soon their lips found each other. The kiss was warm, sweet and undemanding. Love and comfort were in every move of his lips. Shay melted into his embrace and let Min Woo be her rock. When his tongue touched her lips, she willingly opened for him and his tongue gently caressed her own. There was nothing hurried or rushed in this kiss. Min Woo was slow, thorough and tried to let Shay know she was safe.
The kiss ended and they held each other close. Min Woo then enticed Shay to eat some food. As they ate, they talked and Shay learned about his family.
