Chapter 2

~Lizzy's POV~

I look down at my hands.... They are..... shimmering? I could see threw them slightly and both hands were sparkling, along with the rest of my body.

"A mass transport........" I hear Kirito whisper. His voice is trembling... Why is he so scared? The GM is probably just going to tell us that there is a bug and that he is logging us all out until the bug is fixed.

Within a millisecond, we are all transported to the main lobby area. This is where when you log in for the first time you appear. It is a really large area, but still 10,000 people in one room? The Game Master is insane.....

I look over at Ocean and sighed. Of course, she is bobbing up and down trying to see if she can see our friends in this crowd. I don't think she will have much luck, because Ocean, being only 5'3, is smaller than your average male. I watch her bounce up and down a few more times till it finally gets on my nerves.

"Ocean, you won't be able to see them. You're too short to see over everyone and there are too many people in this room. Just give it up," she looked at me with the puppy dog eyes of hers.

"Will you pwetty pwease look of me?" Her eyelashes batted. I can never say no.... I sigh as I stand on my toes and look around. I don't see anyone of our friends. Maybe they didn't get on today, or they may be on summer vacation, since a lot of them are very busy people during the summer.

All the sudden, something started happening... It was hard to explain.. It seemed like there was red goop seeping from somewhere in the sky, and slowly but surely it began to form a person shaped figure that was draped in a cloak.

"Attention Players," the cloaked figure began to speak, "welcome to my world. My name is Kayaba Akihiko and as of this moment, I am in control of this world." (A/N Sorry if I got the name misspelled or got the quote wrong. I am not joking when I say that I am going between writing and watching SAO to make sure I get it correct. I don't want to get too much wrong!) I heard a slight gasp from Kirito. Hmmm, is it bad that he is in control? I thought he was the one who made the game.

"I am sure most of you have noticed an item missing from your main menu," he continued. Good! They noticed that the logout button is gone and are fixing it! "Let me assure you that this is not a defect in the game. I repeat, this is not a defect in the game. This is how Sword Art Online was designed to be." Um, OK, so?

WAIT, WHAT?!? Beside me I heard Klien say, "You're kidding, right?" His voice sounded as bewildered, as if he couldn't grasp the situation. I don't think any of us could, as it was dead silent as the GM continued.

"You can not log yourselves out of SAO and no one in the outside world can shut down or remove the nerve gear. If anyone attempts to do so, a transmitter inside the nerve gear will discharge a microwave signal into your sulk, destroying your brain, thus ending your life." OK, WHAT THE HECK IS HIS PROBLEM!? Is the GM trying to kill everyone off?! Maybe he is lying... I truly don't want to be the one to find out though...

Everyone else is also starting to recover from the shock, as mummers start to fill the room. "What?" "He can't do that." "How do we get out?!" Those are just some of the whispers I start to hear.

Klein chuckled, "Are you listening to this crap? He's gotta be nuts, right? Right, Kirito?" Though he sounded as if he didn't believe it, his eyes were filled with panic. Lilly looked as if she was paralyzed with fear, her whole body trembling.

"He's not," Kirito stated bluntly, "the transmitter signals in the head gear work just like microwaves. If the safety is disabled, then it could fry your brain." Well, it seems as if Kirito wants to terrify us all even more than we already are.
