I just stepped inside NYU's building. This places seems so cold and unfriendly today.
Today . . I just sighed. It is such a difficult day. Not only did I had an encounter with Karen, Hailey, Bobby and those 2 men, I now have to face everyone here as well.
Lord. Please help me get through today and every other day as well . .
I was so engrossed in offering my prayer that I didn't saw Anna. Someone placed a hand on my shoulder and I was startled. I turned around and looked directly in her eyes. They held so many emotions and above all was . was . remorse. .
"Here." She handed out parchments and gave them to me.
"What are these?" I asked confused.
"Mrs. Stones gave assignment last week. You know how she is." Anna said to me.
"You're giving me you assignment?" I said her shocked. Mrs. Stones is someone one can say Strict to the point of being harsh. She is a very good teacher but her not-so-easy rules make all of us if not hate, dislike her.
"No woman, I made an extra copy so if you showed up, you can have it." Anna said, rolling her eyes.
I looked down at the assignment in my hand. She do care for me. Not only did she saved me that night from Dylan's and his on-leads but also today from the wrath of Mrs.Stones.
"Don't think too much." Anna said and she did something I was not prepared.
She hugged me. She literally hugged me. Coming from Anna; this is the biggest thing. She never showed emotions. She is so closed-off and hid in her shell that she only show anger, frustration and loathing for all.
I hugged her back and suppressed a sob.
"Shhh. Don't. I'm here, Char is here. We were not their when you needed us but I swear on my life Mary; you'll not be aloneanymore." Anna said to me silently and I was so thankful for these words.
All of a sudden, I can feel another pair of arms around me.
"We're so sorry Mary. . " Char said, and I hear her voice cracking .
Oh God, Thank you for giving me these two.
"Come on, We've a date with Mrs. Stone."Anna said linking her arm with mine and Char laughing doing the same.
Again, I failed to notice many SUV's parked in the lot.
Inside the class, Mrs. Stone's strict voice sounded: "Assignments." All around students stood up, submitting their assignments to her. As soon as I stood up; Mrs. Stone said: "How did you completed this task, Ms. Jojo?"
