Lexie decided here and then that this day would not end without her apologizing to Kristen and Ken, even if she begs for their forgiveness. She didn’t waste any more time to find her best friends by asking around. Luckily or unluckily one of them said that they were again in trouble with Bryan, which was just carried to the infirmary because of broken leg and arms, courtesy of Ken.

When she asked what and who started the fight, her classmate just shrugged, but according to what she heard Ken had started it. Weird. Lexie knew so well that despite Ken’s reputation of being a trouble maker, he never hurt anyone on purpose except if he is attacked then he would defend and that’s it. Lexie immediately went to where Ken is, which is the staff room.

Kristen who is waiting outside the staff room saw Lexie running down the hall.

“What happened?” Lexie asked a little breathless.

Kristen suddenly burst out crying, “What happened? Lexie happened! That pervert is saying things… things…. Ken, he attacked the bastard because he is saying… bad things about you. He defended you. I have never seen him like that! Oh my gosh, Lexie they are deciding if he would be… he would be….expelled.”

Lexie was stunned to her best friend’s revelation. Ken had defended her even after what had happened. Tears started to form in her eyes, as she realized how a very big idiot she is for shouting at her best friend.

This is ridiculous. Lexie thought as she, without a second thought, barge into the staff room, banging the door accidentally, while Kristen just stood shocked by her actions. Never did Kristen imagine Lexie disrupting a meeting of professors.

All heads turned to Lexie. "Please Professors don't expel him. He doesn't deserve to be expelled just because of being a good friend to an ungrateful friend like....me." Lexie begged, but confusion suddenly crossed the faces of the two girls as they take in the scene before them.

All eyes were fixed towards her. The silence was then broken by the Gryffindor's temporary head, Remus Lupin. "Ah! the subject of our discussion. Come, have a seat. Want some tea butterbeer biscuit?"

Just then Ken noticed Kristen's crying face. "I told you to wait for me in the common room." Ken said as he immediately stood up and hugged her.

"I....was so worried. I thought... I thought you'd be expelled."

Ken kissed her forehead. "I'm sorry babe... for making you worried. Well..." Ken scratched his head. "I won't be expelled, but I'd be suspended for a week."

Then the lovers hugged tightly, just to be interrupted by a the headmaster. "Well... since our discussion ended, you all may go to ah sort your businesses."

Once outside the staff room, there was an awkward atmosphere between the friends.

"I'm sorry Ken, Kristen. I've been a b*tch to both of you. Oh Merlin please forgive me I'll d-"

"It's all fine now. Quarrel happens once in a while." Ken said which made both the girls smile.

Lexie is fidgeting her clothes before extending and offering her hands to both of them. "Still friends?"

Ken and Kristen took her hand. They looked at each other first before chorusing "still best friends." which made Lexie smiled from ear to ear.

"er... ehm.... I have something to tell you guys."

Ken and Kristen exchanged a curious glance. "Okay."

As they sat near the Black Lake, Lexie threw them a pleading look.

She sighed. "I'm sorry for keeping this from you. I just don't want to lose you. Please don't interrupt. This is really hard for me. I'm a.... well... I... you know...What I'm trying to say is that I'm a.... vampire." There is silence.

"I know... if you don't want to be friends with a mons...mons-"

Kristen snapped. "Oh shusshh! Don't say that word. We are not stupid not to notice that." A dumbfounded Lexie gasped.

Ken continued. "I think that it is really cool to have a blood sucking friend." which gain him a 'Ken' from Kristen.

"I mean come on. Why would we be concerned so much about the news about blood banks? We don't really care what you are, honestly. We care who you are."

Lexie hugged them both while crying and murmuring a thank you repeatedly.

Kristen was the first one to break away. “Come on guys, it’s getting cold out here. We should head back now it’s almost dinner.” Both nodded in agreement.

Once they all were far from the lake, the surface suddenly bubbles and a man emerged from the lake. Dripping wet, while carrying gill weed. He looked at the trio from afar as they retreated to the castle with a blank look in his face. He sighed, not knowing that a pair of eyes is also watching his every move.
