When the others went to check on Swift the next morning, they were surprised at what they saw. The two were still sound asleep, but Penny was sleeping next to Swift with her wings wrapped around his waist and one of his wrapped around her.
Bea woke up Penny, which in turn caused Swift to wake up. Everyone, except Penny, was surprised and happy to see Swift awake and ok. They all spoke at once, stating how worried they were, till Speedy got them to calm down.
He called Dr. Hummings to inform her of Swift's awakening. She was happy to hear and see that the young blue jay was awake. She informed him of his condition and what was required for him to make a full recovery.
Swift wasn't really happy about it, but he knew if things were to get back to normal for him, he'd have to do as told.
In a week's time, he had fully recovered and was back to doing what he loved. Now he had something else to worry about. His feelings for Penny.
And Penny, her feelings for Swift.
