Chapter 6: Befriending.

Hinata had noticed Naruto chuckling but didn't say anything, merely smiling at his cute chuckle. Her heart still beating at the contact with his hand and midsection. She didn't like the silence but she was happy that he decided to come with her. Making their way to the cafeteria.

The gang was all sitting in their usual order; Sasuke with Sakura and Ino on either side, Temari next to Ino and Shikamaru next Temari and Choji obviously next to Shikamaru, following Kiba after with space left for Hinata and Ten-Ten. "Where's Hinata-chan?" Kiba asks groaning "Stop your moaning, she's probably giving the new guy a tour." Sakura says, eating from her salad. Kiba just made a 'Tch' until Sakura noticed Hinata entering with Naruto "Oh never mind, she's here." She smiles to Kiba not telling him about Naruto. Kiba quickly turned, smiling only to be let down seeing the new guy walking beside her. Sakura couldn't help but giggle. Shikamaru just sighed "You're so mean Sakura." He says tiredly, Sakura merely grinned giving a thumbs up.

Many glances were thrown Hinata and Naruto's way, Hinata couldn't help but look at the floor due to the attention. Naruto just looked at her, noticing how uncomfortable she was with the attention though kinda surprised at the same time. Leaning down, covering his mouth to whisper in her ear "I'm sorry if you're uncomfortable..." He whispers. Hinata's body became washed over by a sudden warmth, feeling the blood being pumped into her face as her heart pounded against her chest. She was surprised at his sudden whisper but also feeling his breath hit and tingling her ear as the sound of his deep, rough and sexy voic- She means SINCERE VOICE! As he apologised, she stopped dead in her tracks as he pulled away.

Her mind turned to mushed at the whisper "Oi..." Naruto called to her, almost everyone was watching wondering what the new student had whispered to the noble Hinata Hyūga.

Hinata's mind racing 'His voice! His breath! So close!' She thought, as she fiddled with her dress until she suddenly feels a hand on her forehead. Her eyes widening suddenly, seeing Naruto eye level with her, his hand on his own forehead as well. "Mm, you're burning up, you sick?" He asks, Hinata couldn't take all this stimulation as she went blank "N-N-No." She says calmly despite her bodily reactions "Oh... That's good then." He says straightening himself "N-No." She says blankly again "It's not?" He asks confused, she shook her head quickly, she only said no due to his hand being removed from her forehead. "S-Sorry... It's good, th-thanks for asking..." She says looking at the floor shyly "Mm~ Well okay, I'll get you soon enough." He said plainly, she looked at him quickly, wide eyed wondering what he meant but before she could question him, Naruto was heading to the table "Come on." He waited, Hinata merely smiled lightly as she caught up to him.

"They sure do seem chummy." Choji pointed out "No they're not." Kiba quickly fired back, the rest of the girls merely nodded their heads at Kiba's denial.

"H-Hey everyone, this is Naruto Uzumaki." Hinata greets formerly, Naruto coming up behind her, nudging lightly against her arm "A-A-And this is Kiba! Sakura! Ino! Sasuke! Choji! Temari! And Shikamaru!" She points to each quickly and sits next to Sakura, catching her breath. They all just looked at him "Hey." Was all Naruto said as Choji and Shikamaru chuckled since Naruto didn't know he was the new hot topic "Hi!" Sakura and Ino says almost in sync "I'm Sakura as Hinata-chan introduced, I'd just like to apologize again for yesterday." She says, offering her hand. Naruto merely chuckled "You really shouldn't be apologizing, it wasn't your fault and it's okay, I guess I had part of the blame." He says taking Sakura's hand, looking her in the eye giving a slight smile "R-Right..." She says clearing her voice "That one over their should apologize." She hesitantly let's go of his hand, pointing to Kiba.

Kiba was dumbfounded "I must?!" He says annoyed, Sakura cracked her knuckles "Because you tried picking a fight with him." She says, Kiba just retreated in attitude a bit as Naruto sat in between Hinata and Kiba, though he leaned more toward Hinata. "No it's okay, there's a lot of guys that want to protect her." He chuckles "It's like she's the princess, her cousins the strong knight and he's the guard dog." He points at him, everyone laughed in some form or other except for Sasuke and of course Kiba who had tightened his hands into fists.
