Chapter 7: Another day, another misunderstanding.

Hinata had been enjoying the last few days showing Naruto around. Though all good things must come to an end but luckily for Hinata, she and Naruto had become friends, to her joy. So over the past week it had become normal for them to walk to class and hang out during lunch. People started to calm down over the new student, well only a few.

They all sat in class getting back scores from a surprise class test a few days ago. Naruto staring blankly at his paper "Eh...?" He says although he wasn't all that surprised yet he still got taken aback. "N-Naruto-san?" She tried calling him, no response. "N-Naruto-san..." She tried again, no response, noticing that he was just looking at his test. Hinata merely got up, poking his shoulder gently "Naruto-san... Y-You okay?" She asks, then noticing his score '8/40' her eyes widened "D-Don't be discouraged Naruto-san, I'm sure you're still g-getting used to being a student here, th-that's all." She tries cheering him up until Kiba popped up "Hey, Hinata-chan, how much did you get?" He asks, then looking at Naruto's test, he began to burst out laughing.

"What?! You scored so low?" He went on laughing, Sakura and the others started coming now at Kiba's little mockery "Come on, this was a simple class test~" He continues "Man, your school must've bee- Ahh!" Sakura and Ino pulled at Kiba's ears "Do you really have a right to insult other people's score?" Ino asks, pulling a bit more "Unless you get higher than everyone else here, stop being a jerk." Sakura finishes, pulling his ear down, his head following until she finally let go "But still, it'll be a problem since we're nearing exams, we'll be given tests more frequently." Sakura says warning Naruto with concern.

Naruto merely laid his head on the table, sighing. It was troublesome, before he transferred to this school, he was at home for the past two weeks waiting for the transfer to be done. Two weeks of work to catch up on, this made him sigh again. Kiba just stood their rubbing his ears "But there's only two ways into this school, you're either really smart or your families rich." He points out, Naruto clenched his fist at Kiba's reasons.

Hinata noticed Naruto's small reaction, she began to fidget with her fingers "I-I'm sure Naruto-san did r-really well in school." She says trying to cheer him up, everyone just looked at Naruto "Doesn't matter now." He says coldly, looking out the window, Hinata just withdrew herself, looking down. Sakura just hit Kiba, to Kiba's confusing.

Until a small laugh is heard "You don't seem like you come from a high class family." Sasuke says out of nowhere, he says standing a desk away from Naruto. Naruto didn't even bother to look at him "And why is that? Because I'm not some self-absorbed bastard like you?" He says plainly, Sasuke didn't say anything he just stared at him. They all watched intently at the two until Naruto spoke up again "But I'm sure your definition of family is different to mine, Mr noble Uchiha." He says looking at Sasuke now with a smile, Sasuke merely smiled back but anyone who saw this could see it was not a friendly smile rather a smile between two people who wanted to go at it. But Sasuke finally decided to take his seat as everyone watched in amazement, at the two's intensity.

Naruto quickly sighed "I'm gonna need to study..." He says exhausted, Hinata stood frozen, her mind racing. Not because of Naruto... Well, kinda because of him. She wanted to offer her services, she wanted to offer to tutor him! But her mind raced, figuring out a way to ask or offer her help. 'How can I offer? I mean I don't want him to fail... It's not like I'm doing this just to be alone with him... No no, I want to help him... Just because we haven't been alone together doesn't mean I want to be alone with him~' Her mind kept going, denial and a way to ask was keeping her mind occupied until "M-Maybe I could tutor you?" Hinata's thoughts were cut off and her joy cut short at someone else offering to help Naruto. "Really? You sure?" Naruto asks, she merely nodded her head "Of course, plus I have one of the best grades in class." She says with pride but then someone poked her forehead "That's not fair, you just want to be alone with him don't you?" Ino questions Sakura, yes, Sakura offered to help Naruto. Hinata just looked at Sakura, wishing she could be as bold as her. She was feeling a little down that Sakura was going to tutor Naruto but she knew that she'd be able to help him.
