Shock. That was the first feeling I felt when I saw her. Second was longingness. Damn, I miss her hair, her scent, her face. I miss everything about her. It's been nine years since I last saw her, but my feelings never changed. Third was guilt, because I know I left her without saying goodbye. Even if I know I really had no choice, I can't stop feeling guilty because I left her after promising I'll be by her side no matter what.
I was adoring her beauty when I heard Jacee hissing. I raised my brow in response. "I think she doesn't remember us, so I thought maybe we should introduce ourselves." she whispered. "Hey! I'm Jacee," she greeted. Reese smiled and looked at me. It took me a while before I greeted her.
She sat next to me and I can feel everyone staring. I looked at JC and saw him smirking and I shook my head in response. This is going to be an awkward dinner, I can sense it already. "So Kaiser, I heard you're studying on SISC, I assume you still not familiar with your school's campus." tita started. I nodded and she continued, JC didn't give me a tour, he says he's exhausted. Tsk, pustahan tinatamad lang yan. "I think Cassiopeia will be a big help for you, since she studied there since elementary."
Nanlaki ang mata ko at narinig kong nasamid si Reese at agad ko siyang binigyan ng tubig. Hinahagod-hagod ko ang likod niya nang malakas na umubo si JC, sinamaan ko nalang siya ng tingin. "Is it okay with you, sweetie?" tanong ni tita. Nakita kong namutla si Reese ngunit tumango at ngumiti parin siya, pilit nga lang. "It's fine with me, tita"
Matapos nun' ay wala na akong naintindihan sa mga susunod na topic. I only talk when they ask something about me then I'd go back wondering what would happen if she would tour me around.
"Bro," tawag sa'kin ni JC. Nasa garden ako ng bahay nila at nagpapahangin at mukhang sinundan ako ng mokong na 'to. "You planned this, didn't you?!" I said while while throwing him light punches. "Dude, I helped you, and this is what I get in return?! Damn you, Acaveda!" aniya habang tumatawa. Instead of getting mad ay napatawa na rin ako. "Your girl is approaching. Grab the opportunity or lose it. I'm gonna' leave you two and I'll just annoy your sister,"
Tinapik niya ang balikat ko at pumanhik pabalik sa loob ng bahay nila. Nakita kong umupo si Reese sa may bench malapit sa fish pond. "Reese" tawag ko. It looks like I caught her attention because she immediately looked at me. "Call me Cassi," she said in a cold tone. "But Reese—"
"Stop calling me by my second name!" she shouted.
She looked so angry. I hugged her and let her calm herself first before I continue.
"Reese, you have to listen to me. I'm Kaiser, I'm your Kais."
Agad niya akong tinulak at tinignan nang matagal. Lumaki ang mata niya at dun' ko nalamang naalala niya na ako. Anger registered in her eyes. I didn't expect she'll be angry but what she did after shocked me more. She slapped me.
"How dare you come back after leaving without saying goodbye?! How dare you leave after the night you promised you'll stay by my side?"
I can see tears streaming down her face. "Re—" I tried to speak but she cut me off, again. "Don't you Reese me!" she shouted. I was about to explain myself when she pushed me towards the fish pond. Tumakbo siya papunta sa loob. Tumayo ako at hinabol siya pero narinig ko ang pagbukas ng gate nila hudyat na nakaalis na siya.
