Grant's P.O.V:
I wake up to Candice led on top of me, her head resting on my chest and she's in a deep slumber still. All 3 dogs are fast aleep, snuggled up in one bed and I smile to myself, all happiness being brought to me just being here with them; the family I always dreamt about.
She's still wearing her velvet dress and I'm still in my suit. I caress the bare skin of her back to gently wake her up so I can go make us some coffee. She slightly opens her eyes and looks up at me then flops her head back down on my chest and exhales.
"Good morning," I whisper.
"Morning," she says, her voice soft from her sleep.
"I'm gonna go make breakfast, you want anything in particular?" I ask.
"Coffee." She says.
"Sure thing." I say, gently tapping her back, indicating for her to move so I can get up.
She sits up and sighs and frowns.
"What's up?" I ask.
"Tired." She says.
"Well we don't have to work today so we could just have a duvet day if you want?" I suggest.
She smiles, "yeah, I'd like that," she agrees.
"Just shut off from publicity for a day. No communication with the outside world, just you and me?"
"Please." She says.

It pains me that even though we are together and have everything we've always wanted, it's still not perfect; and Andrea saying what she did out of the blue, that's not even like her - she's not like that. Candice is acting like she doesn't care about any of it, and she's a good actor but if anyone's gonna see past the wall she puts up to avoid attention it's me. I think a day without anyone judging us will be a good thing for the both of us.

The kettle boils and I make her coffee just the way she likes it.
"Thanks Grant." She says
I put the TV on and she snuggles into me.
"You know a duvet day requires pyjamas and a duvet right?" She laughs, "were still in last night's clothes,"
"I'll go get changed," I say.
"I'll get the duvet!" She says jumping up and going into her room.
I follow her as my stuff is in her room. I grab some sweatpants and a tee and get changed in the bathroom and she puts on some soft material lounge pants on with a vest in her room.

We plonk ourselves down on the couch and she throws her legs over mine, paralleling Barry and Iris and she chucks the duvet over us both. She snuggles into my chest and we put on baywatch.

We're half way through the movie and I thought she was asleep but she says, "thanks for being so understanding Grant. I know you know I'm affected by what people say, it means a lot that you care,"
"Of course Candice, you do the same thing. All those times I fell out with La and you'd sit and listen to me moaning about her and let me show my true emotions...well partly," I say.
"To be honest though, I had my suspicions that you liked me back which was probably even more annoying because I wasn't sure." She says, laughing.
"Sorry about that,"
"Stop saying sorry!" She says, sitting up and playfully slapping my chest.
"Sorry," I say, "wait no, sorry for saying sorry... I'm still saying it," I slap my hand to my head and laugh at myself.
"You're so cute," she says.
"Well I'm glad you appreciate my dorkiness." I say.
"ADorkableness!" She corrects me, putting emphasis on the 'ad'.
"I met a fan once and literally, I swear she wasn't there to see me, all she was going on about was how cute you are and I was just there agreeing. They LOVE you Grant," she says.
"Well, I think I need to confess to something... I'm your biggest fan." I say, leaning in so our lips are almost touching.
She laughs and sits back.
"What?" I ask, confused.
She buries her head in her hands and continues to laugh.
"I'm so sorry Grant, I'm so immature." She says, slapping her knee.
I've just got it.
"Candice Kristina Patton!" I say, shocked but find it funny at the same time.
"Oh my God, why am I this way?!" She says, once again hiding her face in her hands.
"Well you wouldn't know would you? Huh." I say. "I could be king weiner for all you know," I joke.
"Shut up." She says, tapping my chest whilst pissing herself. "Can we forget I just did that?" She pleads.
"Sure," I say laughing and now blushing.
My phone rings and we look at each other.
"I'm not picking it up." I declare.
She leans over and checks who it is and then answers.
"Hey Tina," she says.
"My mom?" I ask.
"Yeah it's Candice, how are you?" She asks politely through the phone, her voice sounding more innocent now.
She puts my mom on loud speak.
"I was wondering if you and Grant would enjoy coming for dinner?" She asks.
"Um... mom, we were just gonna stay in for today but thanks anyway." I say. Candice looks at me in disapproval,
"No Tina, it's okay wed love to come, well just go get ready now, thank you." She says.
I'm confused.
She ends the call and I look at her confused.
"Cmon!" She says, offering me a hand up.
"Candice you don't have to do this," I tell her.
"I want to."
