Grant isn't dating la in this fic (to be clear I don't hate Andrea bc I don't know her so it's not really my right to judge her plus I just want g and dice to b happy (even though they make each other happy but ya know) so none of my fics will really b against her) and Candice and Grant were nominated for the best lip lock in the teen choice awards but didn't win it and grant acts on that.
It was coming to the end of a long, hard working day for the flash cast and Candice and Grant still had one scene left to do. Everyone else went home so they were the only ones left on set along with the crew and their favourite director Kevin Smith.
Both Candice and Grant were disappointed they didn't win best lip lock as they tended to put a lot into their on screen kisses as it's the only ones they get being too scared to share their feelings with each other. They never confessed they were disappointed; they just shook it off as if it was nothing - but we all know that by now they believe they're experts at hiding their feelings; four years and they're still not together but would die for the other.
"Right time for my west Allen tea!" Kevin cheered rubbing his hands together. He always has been a passionate westallen shipper which was always handy for Candice and Grant because he always had them being more touchy-feely with each other than normal (even though that was often Candice and Grants normality, they just never let themselves see it as anything more than friends even though they wanted to).
Candice and Grant looked at each other and smiled.
"I read this scene and I was so glad I got to direct this episode! I'm just glad you two are so comfortable around each other and so professional about it." Kevin says.
Both candice and grant were also looking forward to this scene but obviously didn't say it out loud. However being absolutely in love with you co-star /best friend didn't sound too professional but melissa and Chris were accepted so that gave them both hope.
"Yeah, just acting right?" Grant said with a nervous laugh to try and cover up his excitement.
His words hurt candice. Many of times she got a hint he liked her back but then he'll say something like that which will completely change her mind and make her feel stupid for when believing he'd ever like her back for a second.
Grant noticed candice's smile fade at his words and immediately regrets it. Why would she react like that if she didn't like him back? He hated upsetting her; recently she's been acting really off with him - something was bothering her- but he couldn't manage to get through to her. She'd told him it was because she was just getting a lot of online hate but he knows that's not it, there's something else and he was determined to cheer her up, whatever he needed to do.
"Okay so yall set?" Kevin asks, walking within the crew helping shoot this scene.
Grant sat on the couch and opened up his arms inviting candice to sit with him. He shamelessly hoped she'd sit on his lap but instead she sat by him and just threw her legs over his and cuddled into his chest which was good enough for him - any contact was some contact, plus this was still really nice; how she found comfort in him and felt safe and happy just being close to him.
On many occasions Grant would pretend that their scenes weren't scripted and they were just filming their daily lives where candice loved him, hugged him, kissed him and wanted to spend the rest of her precious life with him - that they were really Barry and iris and there was nothing breaking them apart. Yeah, of course their friendship was unbreakable, no doubt, but he wanted more. He wanted an unbreakable relationship... an unbreakable marriage.
"Hi." She whispered, looking up at him with an adorable little smile that happened to be contagious as it made grant smile back to her. He was so happy in her presence he never wanted to leave her and he understood that making her his girlfriend then wife would make things a whole world easier and better for him but his anxiety always got the better of him. Why would she want him? All the men in the world, she could have any one of them he never believed she would choose him.
