*SMASH*

He opened his eyes to find himself sitting on the floor in front of his dresser.  The mirror that hung on his bedroom wall was shattered, and broken glass lay all around him.  Blood dripped from his hand, tiny cuts covered his fingers and knuckles, and slivers of shiny glass glistened in each cut.

A quiet voice in his head whispered'You deserve this - you know you do...'.

A small unhappy laugh escaped his lips as the voice continued, 'Look how sharp that glass is....'

His eyes were drawn to the pieces of mirror, a passing car's headlights lit up the room momentarily, and the largest shard almost glowed for a split second.

He couldn't.... could he? It would stop the voices .... wouldn't it? He could just end it here.... No! He shook his head violently.

He needed to get out of here, needed to stop the whispers.  And there was only one place he wanted to go, he just hoped they were home.  He stood up, wiped the tears from his face with his bloody hand, straightened his oversize hoodie and grabbed his car keys.

He didn't say goodbye to the others when he left, couldn't face them again, and closed the front door as quietly as possible.
