"Babe, I don't think I can do this."

"Nonsense, you can do this, all my girlfriends had to do this at one point or another."

"Still."

"Come on, just do it, please, you'll be amazing."

"I know that, but I don't want to."

"Riley, it's cheerleading. You can do this. How hard is it to wave a pom pom in the air?" Oliver sighed, weaving his hand through his hair. He had been trying to persuade Riley to try out for the cheerleading team for the past half hour, to no avail. Riley wouldn't budge. All Oliver wanted to do was to fulfil his little cliché fantasy: football captain + cheerleader. But Riley was being so difficult.

"Maybe in college, Oli-HEY! WATCH IT B*TCH!" Riley yelled at a girl who had elbowed past her. The girl, looking terrified, mumbled, "Um, sorry Riley, I was just-"

Riley pushed the feeble girl on the ground. "I don't care what pathetic excuse you come up with. Go to the doctor's if you're blind."

The girl picked up her books and scurried away while Riley laughed.

"Did-did you see...her face?" She muttered between laughs, "She looked petrified! I should do that more often."

Oliver looked at her with adoring eyes. Her laugh was musical and contagious, it reminded him of meadows and waterfalls. He felt like lifting her up in his arms and dancing around until they both fell of exhaustion. While he stood there with a goofy expression, Riley came to her senses and calmed herself.

Oliver smiled and wrapped his arm around her waist, "All I know babe is that I love your laugh. Now about cheerleading..."

Riley couldn't believe it. Why would something so minor get Oliver so worked up? Why was he so adamant about her joining - and making - the cheerleading team. It wasn't even like they were gonna cheer on his football games and what-not; they were not the pom-pom kind of team. Maybe it was the skirts? No... They weren't even that short, at least not shorter than what she normally wears.

Riley couldn't understand. So, she asked Oliver.

Oliver snorted and replied: "Cheerleaders are hot."

Riley scoffed. That was it?

She turned to Oliver and started to over-think it. "What does that mean? Am I only hot 'cause I'm a cheerleader? Or am I a cheerleader because I'm hot?"

Oliver sighed, trying to find an excuse, but failing to, "Just shut up Riley. You're overthinking it."

He leaned forward and started to kiss her while Riley still wondered.

He never answered the question did he? What was with him and cheerleaders? Was he trying to make a statement? Or was it-was it for the stamina? Was he that dirty minded? God, it was so confusing.

Oliver noted Riley's absence in the kiss so he pulled away and frowned. "Riley, just kiss me. I told you not to overthink it." His hands left her waist and he started to walk away.

Before he left completely though, Riley ran up to him and put her hands around his neck and brought his face down.

"Don't leave. Please."

And she kissed him. She put all her passion into it. She make sure he knew just what she was trying to say without actually saying it and Oliver loved it.

"Riles. Cheer tryouts are at 3. I'll be there to cheer you on."

It was just after lunch, and Riley was at her locker getting her books when Oliver's voice rang out to her. She quickly looked at her mirror before turning to her boyfriend with a glare and shutting her locker door. She looked up at his sparkling blue eyes that looked like the sea and refrained herself from gasping before staring dead cold in those beautiful eyes and muttering;
