I found myself lying in a bed in a strange room. The walls looked to be made of clay. The ceiling was made of straw. I did not know how I got here. I heard the rumbling of thunder outside and started crying. I had no idea how long I had been crying for, but the door to the room opened, and the man from the nightmares in Shiftron stepped inside.
"It's alright Trez," he said picking me up from the bed and holding me close to his chest. "It is just a passing storm. Nothing to be afraid of, daddy is here to protect you."
He held me out at arm's length, and I managed to get a better look at him. There had been some time between the two dreams as gray-streaked his hair and large dark circles surrounded his eyes. He looked to be over exhausted. He started whispering over and over again that everything was going to be alright before singing a lullaby in a strange language. I did not understand exactly what he was saying, but it aided in removing the feeling of terror from my body.
There was another flash of lightning, and the setting changed to that of a wide open field. I noticed we were running swiftly, Drez wielding his aquamarine greatsword in one hand and me close to his chest in the other. Howls and other animalistic sounds flowed from behind us. I picked my head up and saw the most grotesque demon like creatures chasing us. The bodies and head of the demons looked human, but instead of a mouth, there was a large beak that curved down towards its neck. From their curly obsidian hair, two large ram like horns curled back around their ears. Their skin was scaled resembling armor and a dark shade of emerald. They all wore a simple leather loincloth with a variety of crude blades around hooked to them. I looked into the eyes of one of the demons, and its amber colored eyes stared at us hungrily.
I saw amongst the demons a larger one, towering a couple feet above the rest. The creature moved quickly through the throng of demons, gaining on us with ease. There was a series of clicks coming from the giant beast as some of the smaller ones moved away from the group to try and flank us. Drez's body turned just before I felt a chill up my spine that caused me to start crying. The moment we were facing the rushing demons a bolt of lightning flowed down Drez's arm and down his blade before shooting at the giant beast.
The bolt slammed into its large scaled chest, pushing it back a couple feet, but not stopping it at all. I watched the beak open, followed by an ear-shattering screech. I thought my ears were being stabbed by tiny blades. I knew I was crying, but I could barely hear it over the screech. Drez's movements started to become sluggish. When he came to a stop, he dropped his weapon placed me on the ground before reaching for his ears. He fell to his knees shaking his head as the large demon stepped closer, still emitting the screech.
The sound came to a sudden halt, but there was still a ringing sound in my head, echoing like yelling in a canyon. Drez fought to get to his feet, but it looked like his balance was off. He stumbled away from me, and the demon reached out grabbing his neck, lifting him high in the air. The creature smiled, its dagger-like fangs stained a slightly yellow, as it brought its free arm back. I watched its fingers come together creating a blade with its talons.
The arm twitched and I feared Drez was going to be killed, but the sky lit up. The demon came to a halt and starred up at the sky just before another flash lit the sky. A thin bolt of lightning struck down like an arrow, hitting the demon in the top of the head, exiting from its groin and into the ground. An explosion engulfed the demon, throwing Drez back towards me. He turned the fall into a twist, landing in a crouch in front of me. He moved quickly hovering over me just before the debris from the explosion started falling. Once everything calmed down Drez moved aside, and I saw that all that remained of the demon was a large charred statue. I saw the other demons skid to a halt, unsure of what to do with what seemed like their leader easily killed.
