That night I did not sleep. The medically trained guards arrived to take Master Griffonhowl's parents to the hospital. Aleci went with, telling him she would keep him posted. The medically guards offered to assist Master Griffonhowl, but he told them to sleep would be all he needed. One of the guards showed us to our room that could have been my entire home back in Cinnar. I helped Master Griffonhowl to bed where he fell asleep quickly. I headed over to the other bed and fell asleep fast, but met with a nightmare. It continued where the last one left off.
The Knight of Edith's zidici rushed towards us, but Drez spun around sending out a bolt of lightning. The bolt struck the fireball, and it exploded out engulfing the trees in a large cloud of fire. The Knight leaped through the flames as if they were not there.
"Just give up Drez!" The Knight grew the double-bladed axe from his back. "There will be no escape! We will continue to hunt you down until you and that demon child are killed! The end can be quick if you surrender!"
Drez came to a stop, his chest moving quickly as he tried to catch his breath. I could tell he had to be exhausted from fighting the Kupmehs. He looked down at me and placed me behind a tree.
"Stay here son." He kissed my forehead. "I'll be right back."
Drez drew his greatsword and struck fast. I peeked around the tree and watched as he moved swiftly, flowing through a variety of forms. A couple looked similar to the ones I knew, but the rest were something far advanced. Despite all he did, the Knight blocked each one with ease.
"You forget who I am traitor!"
"You're the second seat of the Ehvanhuramm, Midreah," Drez said forming lightning in his hand. "You're so far from home. Isn't your kingdom on the other side of the world?"
"The same can be said to you!" Flames engulfed the Knight's axe. "You are nothing compared to me!"
Midreah swung his axe, sending out a stream of fire. Drez shot the lightning forward then sprinted. The two fought at tremendous speed that my eyes could not keep up. Trees exploded all around, and they were my only sigh of where they were. I could not tell how much time had passed before I could see them again. Something had happened for Midreah to get the upper hand. A gauntlet held Drez's neck tightly, lifting him high above the Knight's head. Drez kicked out at the air trying to peel the hand open. I watched his greatsword drop to the ground as Midreah let out a laugh from his helmet.
"You fought well traitor, but you grew weak over the years." A flame engulfed the Knight's free hand. "Now it is time for you to die."
Midreah moved to strike Drez when I suddenly rushed from behind the tree. "Leave daddy!" I screamed as an intense burst of wind shot forward, swirling around with a light similar to the blade of Drez's greatsword. The flames around Midreah's hand went out before the wind threw him hundreds of feet through the air. He lost his grip on Drez after crashing through a tree. Drez moved quickly, hitting the ground in a crouch, and sprinting towards his weapon.
I felt joy seeing him free, but it vanished upon seeing Midreah closing in. I screamed out as I thought the axe would cut Drez in half. Drez stood perfectly still and then struck like lightning. The aquamarine blade cut through Midreah's helmet, slicing it from chin to forehead. The Knight leaped back clutching the opening of his helmet. His hand moved down, and I thought his eyes were the color of fire.
"I'm going to make you suffer!" Midreah screamed as he sprinted forward.
Drez brought his right arm back, lightning coursing around his arm. The Knight got within ten feet when Drez sent all of the lighting around his arm out in a large zidici. The bolt struck Midreah in the chest. The bolt shot out the back, continuing for a dozen feet. The Knight got thrown back, hitting the ground hard. Drez took a couple seconds to see if he would get up before grabbing me and rushing away.
