We continue to spend the rest of the evening following the river line. It was safer traveling this way as we only had to worry about aggressors from a single side.

Earlier, we spotted an area with the mango-like fruits all spread out in a cluster. They were the same ones that the carnivorous plants used to lure prey. It's a miracle how I only had to deal with one of them. Horned rabbit and I unanimously agreed to steer clear of anything resembling the mangoes.

I climbed another tree to have a clue of where we were in the forest, but it was of no help. Everything looked similar, there was nothing except for the endless stretch of leaves. The tree line hid the ravine from view, so using it as a marker was out of the question.

While traveling, I see a bitter bush in our path and I slash it open with my claws. It contains a dark blue fruit that looks just like an eggplant. Does each bitter bush contain a different type of fruit?

I approach another bitter bush. This one had a light blue fruit that looks just like a pear. The bush next to it gave multiple small berries. Cool, so the bitter bushes weren't exclusive to just large fruits.

I dash between each bitter bush excitedly and tear them open to see what I would get.

It's fun, kinda like opening a loot box. Each bush gave a different type of fruit or berry in varying quantities. If I'm lucky, the bush would give both fruits and berries. So far, I've found at least twenty-four species of fruits and berries total. I wonder if they drop anything rare or ultra-rare.

I feel horned rabbit's silent stare whenever I tear open another bush.

...Don't judge me.

As I leave the river to tear another batch of bitter bushes, a peculiar formation of rock catches my eye. It's a cave, it looks as big as a house. It's too dark to make out anything within. From the looks of it, the cave seems to be larger than it appears to be from the outside.

The sun has already passed beneath the trees. Horned rabbit and I are going to need to find somewhere to rest. Maybe we could use this cave as a temporary shelter for the night? I'm sure it beats sleeping in trees.

I turn and head back to horned rabbit. Because I kept stopping to open the bitter bushes, much to the rabbit's annoyance, horned rabbit decided to wait for me by the river while I do my thing.

"Gau!"

I call out to the rabbit. I wave my hands and point towards the cave to show I had something interesting to show it.

"Pefu"

Horned rabbit looks at me and shakes its head. The rabbit circles the ground restlessly, indicating that it wants to move on. I'm guessing the rabbit thought I wanted to show it some new fruits that I found.

I wave to the rabbit insistently. I promise that it's not anything fruit related.

After a brief stare down, the rabbit huffed and relented. When I show the rabbit the cave, it crouched behind my legs uneasily.

"Pefuu..."

The rabbit looks up at me, it has a worried look on its face. I reach and pet horned rabbit's head to reassure that it's fine. The rabbit doesn't think the cave is safe. If I go inside and check it out, maybe that will ease the rabbit's fears.

I step forward to enter the cave, but something pulled at my tail. I look back and see horned rabbit tugging my tail with its paws. It really doesn't want me to go in there, was there something I should be afraid of?

"Gau"

I slice at the air with my claws as a show of strength. Though I'm still weak, I'm confident that I have enough strength to fend off whatever that may attack me inside. Horned rabbit didn't look convinced, but its form relaxed a bit.
