It is a rare occasion in Hollywood for a young actor to have so much poise and talent, but Timothèe Chalamet is one of those occasions. At just 22 years old, he's already been nominated for an Academy Award and 41 other awards - 33 of which, he's gotten to take home. Interviewer, Kirsten Grant got to sit down one-on-one and get to find out what Timothèe thinks of all the fame.

Kirsten: Thank you so much for being here and answering these questions

Timothee: Thank you for inviting me!

So first and foremost, congratulations on your first Academy Nomination. Sadly you didn't win, but what was it like being nominated?

Thank you so much, it was amazing even being nominated. I don't want to sound clichè, but everyone that was in that category is so amazing. Their performances - not only in the movies they were nominated for - in general are so well done that it was crazy even being put in the same category. [Laughs]

You just got done with Four Years, what's it like having two so well received movies one after another?

Oh man, it's kind of trippy. [Four Years] isn't even out in theaters yet, only select screenings, and people are really enjoying it. The responses are positive, but a lot different from Call Me By Your Name. [CMBYN] was a lot more indie and reached a different variety of people that Four Years reaches, but people are loving it so there's nothing more I could ask for.

Did you ever think that you'd have all these opportunities after [CMBYN] came out?

In all honesty I had no fucking clue. It was such a short shoot and we really weren't sure how people were going to respond, but when it came out and we were getting more and more bookings for interviews and photoshoots it was insane. I still can't believe how much my life has changed.

Your dad is French and your sister actually lives in Paris, is that correct?

Yeah! Pauline lives in Paris and we both grew up traveling to France and speaking it with my dad. I wouldn't say my french is rusty, but I did a french interview a couple months ago and there were some points where I was like "oh shit, what's the word again?"

I've also heard that the American "Timothy" isn't the correct pronunciation...

[Laughs]. Yeah, there's the french timo-tay, but I've said that I don't want to sound pretentious so I don't use it.

That's understandable. You've recently traveled to MIT for a screening and your character in the movie actually is an engineer. What was it like screening your movie in front of actual engineers?

When we went I didn't think it would be as nerve wracking as it actually turned out to be.

How so?

Well, when we got there I was like "yes! Let's show these people our movie. Let's do it!" And then when I peeked outside the curtain I was like "haha nope, screw this," I get really nervous seeing everyone who is going to watch my movie. I want to do these people justice about what they study, and that goes for anything. You want to make sure that you're accurate in your portrayal.

So the MIT Colloquium interview video was released and there were some tough questions!

There definitely was, I didn't really answer those, they were mainly directed at our head writer or Isobel [Chalin] who was our robotics consultant. There was actually an after party of sorts, and it was intimidating because I really didn't know anyone because a couple of the other actors had to leave. But someone ended up coming over to me and was like "don't worry we're all fucking nerds" or something like that.

After the MIT interview some of your fans were freaking out because you were following more people on Instagram than you were originally. Who were the people you followed?

What? People were actually freaking out about that? That's funny, but yeah, it was the MIT instagram and four really chill students who were talking to me for the rest of the night. I'm not sure why that was of interest, but there's the answer.

I'm sure your fans will be happy to know. What do you do when you're not working?

Oh man, um, I really just like to relax. Catch up with some friends, do some school work that really isn't school work. But after [CMBYN] I've gotten pretty close with Armie [Hammer] so we always try and get together if we're close by. Normally Elizabeth [Chambers, Armie's wife] comes along too, sometimes if Pauline is in town I always love having her there too. But honestly, not a lot.

So after Four Years comes out are you working on anything?

I think I'm going to go on vacation after Four Years comes out in theatres, I've been so caught up in working that I haven't really had any down time and it's something I can feel myself needing. It was a 14 month press tour for Call Me By Your Name and Four Years is significantly less time, I think it's only five, but I really need a vacation.

Oh my word, 14 months? That sounds insane, a vacation seems like the perfect plan. Any ideas on where you'd go?

Oh yeah, I was dead like every day I'm still dead

Don't take this the wrong way but you sound a little sick.

Nah, you're fine, someone I know got me sick by accident.

You should sue them.

[Chuckles], I tried. But to answer your question, I think I want to go back to France, maybe somewhere in the countryside, I really don't know. Travel around the Alps, maybe go to some Scandinavian countries. I think I also want to get more friends, that sounds so lame now that I've said it out loud, but it's true.

What do you mean 'more friends'?

Well, it's become a little more difficult to keep in contact with people who I once did while I was in high school. So I think I'm going to try and get back in contact with them.

Well, I hope you have fun on the rest of the press tour, and maybe get some sleep, drink some tea.

I will get right on that.

Thank you for answering these questions, I can't wait to see Four Years.

I just want to say thank you to everyone who has been commenting! It means a lot to me that people are enjoying this story. There's definitely some specifics that I'm looking to eventually change. But right now they'll have to stay. But thank you, seriously, for voting and commenting on this.

P.S
I'm not sure if anyone even understands how my numbering system works for these chapters. So I'll explain.
This one is "interview 1-13"
'Interview' obviously because it's an interview.
'1' because it's the first chapter labeled interview. (Like how the last chapter was instagram and it had a 4 first bc it was the fourth instagram chapter)
'13' because it's the thirteenth chapter.
