“Harry I don’t even like basketball,” you complained as you walk down the stairs and put on your cardigan. “Yeah, neither does Sophia, that’s why you’re coming,” he smiled at you as he took a bite from an apple. “Oh that’s why,” you raise an eyebrow and he laughs as he walks towards you, putting his arms around you. “And because I can’t bare to be away from you for too long,” he batted his eyelashes at you and you rolled your eyes. “Yeah okay Harry, let’s just go. I’m just happy Sophia will be there so I don’t die of boredom.” He continued laughing as he bit down on his apple and held it in his mouth whilst he pulled his jacket on. “Don’t be so negative, you might enjoy it,” he mumbled with great difficulty because of the huge apple in his mouth. You laughed at him and pulled the door open, “you’re so annoying,” you joked and he followed you out the door and locked him behind the both of you. “Yeah I know, it’s part of my charm,” he said as he grinned at you. You made your way to the basketball arena and when you saw Liam and Sophia standing outside waiting for you, she looked just about as happy as you were to be there. Her eyes lit up when she saw you and she breathed a sigh of relief. “Y/N, thank God! Liam wasn’t sure if you were coming! I was worried I was going to have to sit through this alone,” you laughed and nodded. “Yeah I know right, I don’t know why they insisted we come, we could have easily gone shopping or something instead!” She nodded and rolled her eyes, “I know right, come on, let’s just make the best of this,” she laughed and you both walked inside behind your boyfriends. You had seats right at the side of the court and you knew that any big basketball fan would have killed for these seats and you felt kind of bad but you plopped yourself down anyway and Sophia sat next to you. Harry and Liam both sat together on your left hand side and you and Sophia began chatting and gossiping, trying your best to drown out your surroundings. It wasn’t long before the game started and you both looked around at the players, jaws on the floor as you admired how good looking some of them were. “We’re right here you know?” Liam asked, raising his eyebrows at the two of you as Harry glared at all the basketball players. “Yeah, we know,” Sophia laughed, “if you’re going to drag us to a basketball game, we have to find some way to entertain ourselves.” Harry and Liam both shook their heads and rolled their eyes as you and Sophia cackled, knowing how annoyed they were. Soon enough the game was in full swing and you had noticed that yours and Sophia’s conversation had dwindled away, not because you had nothing else to talk about, but because you were actually enjoying the game. You had both decided to support the team wearing the blue because Harry and Liam were supporting the other team and it was annoying them. You watched, amazed at how quickly and accurately the players could move around the court and throw the ball. You could barely walk down the street without tripping over your own feet. You and Sophia sat on the edge of your seats as your team passed the ball back and forth and then eventually one of the players, number 23, went to shoot the ball and it went in the basket and without even realizing what you were doing, you and Sophia jumped out of your seats and began cheering and clapping. You looked down at Harry and Liam who were actually smiling up at the two of you, which you thought was kind of strange since their team was now losing but you decided to ignore it. The game was in the last minute and the score was tied and both of the teams were talking about their strategy and you felt your heart beating faster and faster as the game began again. The teams passed the ball back forth and you looked at the clock, which told you there was ten seconds left. Your team had the ball and they were almost at the basket. Number 23 shot the ball again at three seconds to go and you could have sworn the entire world slowed right down to a snail’s pace as you watched the ball flying towards the basket and go in just as the buzzer rang, signaling the end of the game. You and Sophia jumped out of your seats again and began hugging each other and jumping up and down, laughing as you did. Harry and Liam stood and clapped politely, even though their teams lost and then grabbed your hands to lead you out the arena before everyone started piling out. “That was fun,” Sophia laughed, “we should do that again sometime. You agreed happily, “I did actually really enjoy myself,” you said and the boys both stood smiling at the two of you, eyes filled with an adoration you couldn’t explain. You said your goodbyes to Liam and Sophia and walked back to your car. “What’s going on Harry?” you laughed as you climbed into the front seat, “why are you looking at me like that?” you asked. “Nothing, I just like seeing you happy,” he said, smiling over at you as he reversed out of his parking space. “What?” you asked, slightly confused but laughing at the same time. “Liam and I loved seeing how excited you and Sophia got at the game, how happy you were when your team scored and when they won. Even though our team lost, it was worth it to see you both so excited and happy.” You blushed as you grinned at him, unable to believe how lucky you and Sophia were to have such amazing boyfriends. “I love you, you know that?” you asked before leaning over and pressing your lips to his cheek. “I love you too babe,” he said before turning round and brushing his lips softly against yours.
