Time passed rather slowly in the void... or at least it seems like a void. Tyler had just finished his short five minute power nap when he abruptly woke up to find himself in an empty and dark place. At first he panicked, but then he relaxed noticing that there was really not danger, just pure emptiness. He thought he was dreaming, but after aimlessly trying all of his techniques in attempt to wake up and seeing that they all failed, he felt the rush of adrenaline coursing back into his body. "Its just a dream...", he thought to himself firmly. However, the nagging anxiety that lurked in the back of his brain still pressed on. After procrastinating whether or not he should fall back asleep or just sit there, he carefully stood up and began to walk; where to he had no idea. He walked for what seemed hours. The vast expanse of land was empty with not a single sign of life in sight. The world that surrounded him was dark and dead. He passed a few trees and shrubs here and there but there was really nothing in this strange place. The thing that did seem out of place for him was he was the only thing that appeared to be in color. He could see the color of his flesh vibrating in the colorless world. His faded black jeans where nothing compared to the gray sky, and his white shirt seemed to shine through he darkest corners of the void. Even his jacket like tux shone a little in this dead place. After a while, he stopped to rest.
" How long have I been here? What time is it? Does time even pass in this place?"
He hopelessly looked around for signs of life, oh just how he wished he wasn't so alone! Suddenly he heard it. Somewhere over yonder, he could faintly hear someone or something singing a tune. Hoping that the voice could assist him with a way out of here, Tyler sprang up and continued to listen ever so closely and go towards the direction of the voice. At first it was very faint, but he could make out the words " father" and "marching band".
"Great, now I'm really going crazy", he thought and continued to walk towards the singing.
"He said son when you grow up, will you be the savior of the broken, the beaten and the dammed".
He could clearly hear it now. Like a flash of lightning, he spotted a small colorless oak tree beside a small murky pond. The stranger was sitting on what seemed to be an old silver bench. If the bench would have been in color, Tyler could make out the rusted edges of the bench, but everything was gray and lifeless. He hesitated at first but then spoke.
"Uhhhh, 'scuse me...". The stranger stopped singing suddenly, stood, and faced towards him. He looked around his mid 20s, maybe almost 30 but not quite. His white soft hair brought out his hazel green eyes that were now staring intensively at Tyler. His skin, like Tyler's, outshone the greatness of the void. He wore a black and silver military jacket, black military boots, and black jeans. They both stood in silence for about ten seconds until Tyler broke the silence.
"Hello... I was wondering if you knew where I was?"
" I was about to ask you the same thing".
"Great, he's as lost as I am".
"I'm sorry", he said," where are my manners". He held out his hand in a friendly gesture.
"Gerard".
Tyler shook his hand. " Tyler.", he answered. Gerard looked around. "So... you don't know where we are either eh?"
" I wish I did. How long have you been here?"
" I think I've been here for about an hour or so... or at least I think so. Time doesn't seem to pass around here I guess."
"Tell me about it!"
Gerard laughed. "So how long have you been here?"
Tyler shrugged. "I couldn't tell you even if I wanted to. I hate this void." Gerard pursed his lips.
"So what's the plan?"
"What do you mean?"
"Well you wanna get out of here don't you?"
"Well... yea... but... how?
"I guess we have to figure it out."

They talked for hours about their life before the void. Gerard told Tyler that he was currently in a band and Tyler told him he was in a band as well.
"Well what do you know, we have something in common!"
"May I ask... what were you singing earlier on?"
Gerard started to hum the melody of the tune Tyler heard earlier and then sing the actual lyrics.
"Sounds good".
"Thank you. It's actually a true story, the whole my father took me into the city thing".
"Wait so let me get this straight. Your dad took you into the city to see a marching band?"
"Yea... and when we left to go back home we realized we forgot my younger brother".
"Oh geez, I'm sure your mom was really happy".
"She was thrilled all right", he said sarcastically.
"Well I wrote a song called Car Radio. It's also a true story." Tyler explained what had happened to his radio one day when he had returned to his car.
"Wait so someone stole your car radio and you had to sit in silence?"
"Yea... pretty much."
"Who'd want a car radio?"
Tyler shrugged his shoulders. Gerard's eyes suddenly perked up.
"I just remembered! Before I got here I was with my brother! You haven't seen him have you?"
Tyler shook his head. "Sorry fren".
"I could've sworn he was with me...".
"What's his name? Maybe I know him."
"His name is Mikey. Mikey Way is my brother." Suddenly it hit Tyler.
"What'd you say the name of your band was?"
"My Chemical Romance".
"My Chemical Romance... Mikey Way... wait... does that mean...".
"You're Gerard Way!"
Gerard looked skeptical, as if he doubted his own identity. "Yea... why did you say it like that though?"
"I know your brother! I haven't met him personally but I know him. And I think I know where we are."
Gerard perked up. "Where?!"
"We.... we are not in the past nor in the future.. well at least I'm not. We're stuck in the middle of the crossroads....".

Hope you liked the first chapter of this and hopefully I did a good job at writing this too. Just an idea that I had to write down somewhere and I figured this could be the place. Hope you enjoyed and I'll see you guys next time! 🤟🏼❤️
