I woke up and showered quickly.
I tied my hair up high, and wrapped a colorful bandana around my head.
I finished packing all essentials into my suitcase and rolled it into the living room.
I went to the kitchen and began washing the dishes from last night.
A knock sounded on my door again, and it opened.
He wrapped his arms around my waist, resting his head against my shoulder.
My hands were still free, so I dried the plate and set it on the counter, before turning around and burying my head in his chest.
"We gotta go." I mumbled. "Flight leaves at five."
His hold on me tightened. "I just realized I'm going to miss your birthday."
I breathed a laugh, pulling away to meet his dark brown eyes.
He slid his hand up to my cheek, pulling me closer.
Impatient for him to do it himself, I reached up and pressed my lips to his.
"Are you ready?" He asked.
"I think so."
"Okay."
We shut all the lights off, locked up, and began the drive to the airport.
"Stay safe, don't talk to strangers, don't walk anywhere or take a taxi...basically don't go anywhere unless Sky's with you," he continued his list of instructions.
"Nothing's going to happen to me, I promise."
"I'm not going to believe that until you're home again."
I rolled my eyes. "I had no idea you were this overprotective."
"Only when you travel with people I don't know."
"You know Sky," I protested.
"Not that well, but better than any of the rest of them." We pulled up in front of the airport entrance. He turned to me. "I'll miss you."
I smiled softly. "I'll miss you too. Um," my smile faded and I shifted in my seat. "Can I have that?" I pointed to him.
"What?" He looked down, confused before smiling, realizing what I meant. "I guess."
He unzipped his olive green jacket, and slid it off his shoulders, handing it to me.
I buried my face in it. "Thank you." I said, my voice muffled.
"I'm not going to see you or my jacket for a week and a half?"
"You'll have to survive through FaceTime." I unbuckled my seatbelt. "I've gotta go."
He sighed. "Well, give me one last kiss and get out of here."
I laughed, granting him his request.
"Bye!" I said as I grabbed my backpack and suitcase and climbed out of the car.
"I love you." He said as I stepped out onto the sidewalk.
"I love you too." I smiled and closed the car door.
I walked into the airport and checked in, before walking to security.
Sky caught up with me on the way.
"Have you eaten anything?" He asked.
"Nope. I was gonna stop and grab something here."
We ended up finding a Starbucks on the other side of security.
