"Jasmine, calm down! I can't understand you!"

She took several deep breaths, sniffing. "We were driving, and we stopped at a red light. So then, it turned green, and we started driving. But this other car," she sucked in a sharp inhale, attempting to regain composure. "And it slammed into the driver's side."

I nearly dropped my phone. "Was Anthony driving?"

"Yes." She choked out. "Someone called 9-1-1, and I'm at the hospital right now."

"Are you okay?"

"I'm fine, but I don't know about Ant. They haven't told me anything."

My hand flew to my mouth, tears beginning to streak down my face. "How bad did he look?"

"I-I don't know. It was dark, and I"

"Jasmine, it's okay. Please calm down." Though you can call me a hypocrite, because I was practically sobbing by this point.

Oak stared down at me with his dark brown eyes full of concern.

"Keep me updated, Jazzy. Should I come visit?"

"No, they're gonna call a taxi to take me home. I'll just see you tomorrow. Sometime around eight?"

I nodded. "Yeah, yeah. Are you gonna be okay?"

"I'm fine." She sniffed. "They said that sleep will help, and that they'll call me when they have updates on him. After they call me, I'll call you."

I exhaled. "Okay, okay."

"Goodnight, Jada."

"Goodnight. Love you."

"Love you too." She hung up.

"Oh gosh," I groaned, drying my eyes with my hands, and not caring that I was smudging my makeup.

Oak took my hand from my face, lifting my head to meet his eyes. "What's the matter? What happened?"

"Anthony and Jasmine got in a car crash. Jazzy's fine, but the other car hit on Anthony's side. We don't know anything yet."

"Do you need me to drive you to the hospital?"

I shook my head. "I'm gonna go tomorrow, around eight. They sent Jasmine home too."

"Do you want me to drive you home?"

I nodded. "Please."

He nodded back. "Okay. Grab your stuff. I'll tell Lin what happened."

I walked down to the ensemble dressing room and cleaned the rest of my makeup off, before grabbing my backpack and Anthony's green water bottle.

Oak found me in the hallway. "Lin's gonna delay rehearsal tomorrow so we can all go during visiting hours."

"Okay."

"Are you ready?"

I nodded. "Yeah."

He offered me his hand again, and I could see in his eyes that he offered it hesitantly, wondering if I'd take his gesture as a move in because I was emotionally distraught.

But I didn't.

I took his offered hand, gratefully intertwining our fingers again.

He pulled me along, through the hallways, out the back door, and into the parking lot.

He still held my hand in his as we drove to my apartment, and he only let go so I could get in and out of his car.

I unlocked my apartment door and stepped inside, walking straight to the couch and sitting down on the edge, staring at the floor.
