Chapter 5 Secret

After our kiss I drove Caroline home. I was thrilled that she kissed me but I wasn't thrilled about taking her to her own home. If I wanted her I would have to take it slow. I was just not used to it. I was used to women chasing me, begging for me. I was used to having sex and then never seeing them again.

She was finally stopping playing hard to get and I hoped she'd keep it that way. I scheduled another date for the next day. I didn't know what I was going to do, yet.

I went home and lay back on my bed and I smiled. Caroline Forbes kissed me. Me. Niklaus Mikaelson.

Caroline's POV!!!!

I kissed Klaus.
I know, what in the heck was I thinking?
I should have refused that date and I never should have kissed him.
The problem was, I wanted to. I wanted to kiss him and I enjoyed it. A lot. He was experienced, of course. He knew how to kiss and he did it well. I was laying in my bed now and I couldn't erase the memory of the kiss or the feeling of his lips against mine. I was in way over my head.

I had to talk to Stefan. I couldn't even talk to my girlfriends about it because I knew what they'd say. Stefan was the only one who understood. He had been in love with Rebecca and he understood about being with the 'wrong' person.

I ran to see him and I busted inside.
He was writing in his journal of course, and he looked up when I opened the door.
"Caroline."
"Hey Stefan. Can I talk to you?"
"A lot of people have been needing to talk to me lately. "
"What do you mean?"
"Klaus asked to talk to me the other day."
"He... he did?"
"Yeah. About you."
"What about me?"
"He wanted my advice on how to get you to give into him."
"What?!"
"Yeah."
"What'd you tell him!?"
"I told him to treat you right and to not be Tyler. Basically."
"Stefan..."
"Caroline he's trying. Give him a chance."
I looked everywhere but him.
"You did, didn't you?"
"I kissed him."
"Are you serious?"
"Yes. It was good."
"Wow."
"Shut up."
"There's no reason to be ashamed Caroline."
"That's what I keep telling myself."
"Well then listen to yourself."
"But Elena..."
"Don't worry about her. She ll get over it. She's made many decisions that no one has agreed with."
"I know I just... it's new."
"I know but you like him right?"
I smiled. "I do."
"Well then do what's best for you and don't worry about what everyone else thinks."
"Ill try not to. Do you think that I'm doing the right thing?"
"I can't tell you what's right but if you do what you think is right I'm sure that it will eventually work out how it's supposed to."
"You're so smart Stefan."
"I try. You really like him don't you?"
"Yes. I always have but things got in the way but now it's just us."
"Good. Focus on what you want. The rest will just fall into place. And don't worry about Elena, she'll come around."
"Thank you,Stefan for your wise advice."
"Anytime Care."
I gave him a hug.
"Well isn't this cozy."
We turned and Damon was standing there.
"What's this Barbie?Did you move on to Stefan since Klaus is taken?"
Excuse me? "What?"
"Stef... did you not tell her?Shame Shame."
"Tell me what? Stefan!"
"I didn't want to ruin what you've accomplished."
"Why would Klaus be with someone else? He just kissed me!"
"Ooo Barbie, did you finally give into Klaus' advances?"
"Shut up Damon! Stefan what's going on?"
"Klaus isn't with anybody. Not anymore."
"I don't understand."
"Klaus got with Hayley and..."
"Excuse me?"
"Hayley and Klaus slept..."
"He slept with the wereslut!"
"Yes right before we found the cure."
Damon smirked."That's not all Barbie. Hayley's pregnant... with Klaus' child."
"But... but that's not possible."
"Think about it. Klaus is THE hybrid and he slept with a werewolf. Things happen. They're rare, but they happen."
"Why didn't he tell me?"
"Of course Klaus isn't going to tell you! He had an actual chance with you. He would never tell you his secret, it would push you away."
"I can't believe this."
"Well believe it. Klaus lied to you."
"Stefan is it true?"
"Yes. But Care..."
I started walking towards the door.
"No. I need to leave."
I slammed the door as Stefan scolded Damon.
"Why would you tell her that!"
"She has a right to know!"

Oh I had a right to know and it was high time I remembered all of the things that Klaus has done. I shouldn't have to deal with this.

I was DONE.
