Kylo Ren

I chewed on my lip as I waited for my mother to come out of the principal's office. She was explaining my 'situation' to him. The situation that involves me having severe anger and depression issues. The situation that caused me to black out and kill my father when he tried to beat me. I gulped as the minutes stretched on.

Finally, my mother opened the door and walked out of the office with a large smile on her face.

"You're registered and all set to go, Ben!" She said, holding out her arms for a hug.
I groaned.

"Kylo, mom." I reminded her. "It's Kylo" I stood to accept the hug (there's no way to avoid Leia Organa's hugs). As she pulled back from the hug she looked into my eyes.

"Oh, look at my little man!" She whispered. "I can't believe you're off to college already... Your father-" I tensed at the mention of that pig. Mom quickly shifted gears. "Luke would be proud." she said instead, referring to my uncle, who went missing a few years back. I had been very close to him. He was the closest thing to a father that I had.

I forced a smile. "Thanks Mom." I said, softly. She smiled and ruffled my hair. "This is getting  messy. And you're  getting so tall..." It was true. I was creeping up on six foot two, while my mother was five one. She stared at me with an almost sad smile on her face before embracing me once more. "I love you, Be- Kylo." She sniffled a bit.

"I love you too, Mom. I'll see you for fall break." I just barely managed to pass these words in through my lips before tears started to fall down my mother's face. I rolled my eyes.

"Mooom... Don't cry. It's not that far away. You can always come visit if you miss me. It's not that far away..."
"I know, I know," she whispered. "I'm just so proud of you."

I let a small smile slip onto my face as I pulled her into a hug. "Thanks Mom. But I should probably get to my dorm. I still have to choose my classes."

     "Oh, alright. Goodbye, son"

A shiver ran through me. "No, Mom. Never Goodbye. Always See you later."

     "I'll see you later, then."
