Moonstone woke up and got dressed immediately, not wanting to miss her shift.
She wore the usual outfit with a bigger sheath to accommodate for her specialized sword
"Good evening, Moonstone." Antarcticite greeted, setting up the jellyfish so that she could watch Moonstone.
She sat down beside the jellyfish as Moonstone approached her.
"You know, you don't have to watch me today..... or tonight...... because I believe I am strong enough now!" Moonstone complained.
"No."
"Why?!" She said, moving nearer.
"Because you are NOT strong enough yet. Besides, there's one thing you haven't seen yet and I am worried that you'll be taken away from me!" Antarcticite retorted standing up and going face-to-face with Moonstone.
Moonstone was taken aback by Antarc's harsh yet touching speech. She took a step back and turned her back to Antarc.
"I'm sorry, Antarc but, I need time alone." Moonstone spat out every word, feeling hurt and rejected but also guilty.
"W-wait! Moonstone!" Antarc said, not meaning her words as an attack but a warning.
Moonstone walked away to do her shoveling away from Antarc.
Antarc sighed and sat down, laying her head on her sword.
"She'll get over it.... won't she?" Antarc said to no one in particular.
However, it the next few days, Moonstone totally ignored Antarc but not out of spite, for Moonstone had forgiven Antarc, but out of guilt and fright.
Moonstone became sadder every passing day and soon dreaded her work as much as she dreaded being broken and never put back again.
She kept to herself and never spoke except for reports. This also saddened Antarc, though she never showed it. Antarc felt like she was a curse and directed her anger at the ice floes.
One day, Moonstone built up her courage to apologize and ran out, only to find Antarc destroying the ice floes mercilessly. Moonstone then lost all her courage and hid behind a bit of ice that stuck out of the water.
As Antarc finished up, she spotted a sunspot. As she looked at it, at first she stared at it puzzled, her mind still on the argument they had. But then, in a flash it registered in her brain that what she was staring at was indeed a sunspot.
She held her sword tighter and ran towards the sunspot. Moonstone, puzzled at why Antarc would be trouble by the sky, abandoned the subject of her spying to look at the sky.
She saw a bunch of white figures lined up neatly, some holding instruments and others carrying weapons. And then, the biggest one came into her view. She noticed that it was holding a bowl. From what she learned, these were Lunarians and they came to harvest them as jewelry. She looked back and forth between the Lunarians and Antarc as her eyes slowly widened in worry.
She ran back to the school frantically, heading straight for Kongo-sensei's room.
"SENSEI!" She practically screamed as barged in.
"What is it?" He asked.
"Lu..... *pant* lu... *pant* LUNARIAN! ANTARC! HELP!" She said desperately.
Kongo-sensei then ran towards the very obvious battle that still raged between the Lunarians and Antarc.
Moonstone ran beside him, carrying her drawn sword and she ran back to the spot where she saw the Lunarians.
She didn't notice that she was far ahead of Kongo-sensei, her worry filling her mind. Kongo-sensei did notice, however, that her speed rivaled that of Yellow Diamond's and that she might even be faster if pushed to her limits.
When they arrived, Antarcticite was already missing a limb or two.
"Get behind me." Kongo-sensei ordered.
Moonstone ran and grabbed Antarc from behind and once she got behind Kongo-sensei, he disintegrated the Lunarians.
They spent the rest of the day collecting Antarc's missing pieces.
When they finished, Moonstone guided her to the mini clinic and put her together.
"Thank you, Moonstone." Antarc said, as Moonstone applied powder to Antarc's legs. Moonstone paused, surprised that Antarc would even speak to her.
"And.... I'm sorry for yelling at you like I did." Antarc said, fidgeting with her fingers as Moonstone looked up.
Moonstone then looked down.
"No, it is I who must apologize. I provoked you..." She said, cracking slightly.
"So..... can we still be friends?" Antarc said nervously.
"Yes, we can." Moonstone said, smiling.
Her shining face revealed some her cracks. Antarc then scolded Moonstone lightly for getting cracked and they laughed it off.
